Summary: A Really Big Disappointment
Review: Though the details of this product indicate a very bright, magnificent picture quality EDTV, I got anything but with this EDTV.

The product was shipped very quickly, and arrived as planned, so that part of the service was very good.

However, the quality of this picure is anything but great. With the highest quality Component video cables, a brand new receiver I purchased just for this TV, the TV, DVD, and console gaming picture quality is terrible. Live TV is perhaps the worst of the three, in that the picture is both blurry and often too dark. The "Universal" remote that comes with this thing is kinda a joke in my opinion, and the Manual for the TV and remote are next to useless. They do not even bother to tell you what the different saettings are for, or to to do certain things (since by default some of the setup options on the TV are inaccessible until you select other choices - not intuitive at all).

The most disappointing element is the vido game imaging. Through my XBOX and monster component video, the EDTV actually cannot handle the higer end game play, and frequently flahses dark or bright light when the game goes through cut scenes, giving "Out of Range" error messages on the screen instead. The screen aslo fluctuates and actually randomly gets darker as you play games, makign some games so dark as to be unplayble until you adjust the color settings one way ot the other...then thr "brightness" will return for a short time.

I also was not pleased with the audio setup in that there is no digital audio output available, but that's my fault for not better reading the description i suppose.

Sadly, when compared to my regular 32" TV, the picture quality of TV, DVD< and video console is MUCH better then through the 42' EDTV. That tells me quite a bit about the quality of picture I am getting. I even tried contacting the service people at Hisense (which is not necessarily easy) to get help, but there was really noen there. Instead, they send you a form to file a claim and you get to wait to see if you qualify for a replacement. No one even asked me techinical questiosn about my problems. Do they KNOW this product is defective I wonder?

I would NOT recommend this product to anyone. Pay the igher end prices of models you can touch in a store instead.
