Summary: Excellent, touching show....
Review: So many folks have provided Amazon with glowing reviews of this DVD show...what's left to say except it has exceptional sound and picture quality and the music is performed well. Its nice to see the two remaining Beatles on stage singing together along with Jeff Lynne (ELO), Eric Clapton and other major recording artists! If you liked the Beatles and George's stuff...you'll love and enjoy this remarkable DVD. Well done Eric ! (he arranged to make this show happen)

Summary: Must have for any Beatle/George Harrison fan
Review: I received this DVD for XMAS and I must have watched and or listened to it 10 times already. Basically Eric Clapton gathers up George's friends at Royal Albert Hall and performs one of the best shows I've seen on DVD. The first half hour on the the complete concert disc is Rave Shankar performing a piece written for George. I dig it. There's the great stuff from the Beatles as well as some really cool solo stuff. 3 highlights for me: Billy Preston "Isn't a Pity," Paul McCartney "Something," Eric Clapton/Paul McCartney "While my Guitar gently weeps."
The 5.1 mix and the encoding on both discs is awesome. I very highly recommend this disc set. It's a great celebration of George's life & music and a chance to hear those songs played by one of the greatest group of musicians ever assembled.

Summary: Dhani Harrison A Gift from Olivia and George
Review: Having been a Beatles fanatic since 1964, I felt that the Tribute Concert for George Harrison was perfect and as it should have been. To have a collective of such friends and musicians pay their final tribute to one of the truly greatest guitarists and songwriters was awe inspiring. Eric Clapton is number one in my book and his renditions of George's songs were absolutely stunning, soulful and full of love. Ringo's "Photographs" brought tears to my eyes as Ringo unfolded his emotions through the very words of the song. Macca did a great rendition of Something on the ukelele and continues to prove his masterful talent. George's Wilbury buddie, Jeff added another dimension to this already powerful group of super musicians. The percussionist who plays with Eric (sorry about the senior moment, can't remember his name just now) is always fresh and powerful. Tom Petty is forever Tom Petty and his playing and singing was especially wonderful. Last but certainly not least, is Dhani Harrison himself. This wonderful young man reminds us so much of his father at that age and it is a passage in time which will never be forgotten. His shear bravado and quite presence needed nothing more than his superb guitar. I know there are many others such as Billy Preston, Ravi Shankar and without them somehow the concert would not had been complete. I found myself smiling as the tears flowed down my face through the entire concert. A grand send off for one of our best beloved and talented musicians. A spirtual man who went to see "His Sweet Lord." Thank you to the beautiful Olivia, your presence graced the concert and couldn't have been as successful without you. Thank you for sharing your man with the rest of the world. God Bless you all.
Love and Light,
Chantal Tenace

Summary: Perfect !!!... but miss "Not Guilty"
Review: Everyone said the true, best concert ever!!! I still watched everyday since the day I boughted, even my one year old son, like it!!! Great energy, good karma, the most amazing musicians (and all the most important people that play in George Solo Career) Uncle Ringo, and Paul (invited as a good gesture by the Harrison Family)any way Celestial Concert, but I will said that the concert miss Rock and Roll, even Carl Perkins cover was interpreted, the best rock song of my favorite idol in music is "NOT GUILTY" and that song was for me the BIG MISS.
Lov ya George... you always be the best of the Beatles.

Summary: Best Live Concert DVD I Ever Bought
Review: This is a great concert that celebrates the life of the "quiet one" that is George Harrison. A gathering of some of the greatest musicians of our time who absolutely loved George. It's a truely moving tribute to one of the greatest musicians of all time.

Even if you don't like the Beatles, the gathering of so many of musicians is certainly an awesome site.

Summary: PLAY SOME ROCK 'N ROLL!!!!!
Review: Yes, "Concert for George" is worth the money (all profits to the filmmakers go to Eric Clapton's charity).

Yes, George Harrison loved the sitar and other Indian/exotic instruments.

No, he like most other people didn't care for whiney Indian screeching.

No, simply being someone's wife isn't enough reason to be allowed to sing in a music tribute. Don't get me wrong, Mrs. Shankar looks like a very nice lady. But good Lord, that voice of hers still keeps me awake at night. Shades of Yoko.

Yes, George Harrison was as tired of "The Lumberjack Song" and "Sit on my Face" as everyone else.

You'll probably find yourself skipping over the first segment of this video, and perhaps the second as well. As Harrison himself likely would have done. But what remains is still an exceptional performance and well worth the money.
