Summary: A DVD to get your heart pumping
Review: This is a great DVD of U2, you seriously can't sit still while watching.

Summary: Great Band. Bad Movie.
Review: Of all the video documents of U2, none is more frustrating to watch than Rattle and Hum. The camera never seems to be in the right place at the right time. It's as if director Phil Joanou never heard of U2 and decided to make a film of them anyway. He seems to get carried away with art of film making instead of the art of U2. From the botched, boring interviews to the artifice of using grainy, black and white film, Rattle and Hum is just wrong. Near the end of the picture and for no particular reason, we have color.

At least the audio is high quality and nothing can detract from U2's excellent performances. It would have been more interesting to see a full, unedited concert from the Joshua Tree tour rather than this not so "art" film.

Better U2 films: Popmart (although also visually annoying, the energy and setlist is far better), Elevation (perhaps the best), or ZooTv (for the sheer scale of the event).

Summary: DVD Me Please!
Review: I've been a fan for years, making the track to the midnight movies years ago to see Rattle and Hum in the theatrical release. But the sound quality of the DVD blows everything else away! This DVD alone is reason enough to go out and purchase a player. If you are a fan of U2 this DVD will be nothing short of a religious experience!

Summary: Stop the traffic it's Rattle and Hum!
Review: After recieving the Rattle and Hum DVD for Christmas I didn't expect it to live up to the standard of the Elevation-Live in Boston DVD or the POPMART tour on VHS...I was wrong!
After 2 hours i was dumfounded by this movie!
It portrayed a fresh faced and very talented band and the songs were brilliant!
u2 may have matured since the 1980's but their music is still as good as ever!
If you havent bought this yet I can only advise you to do so now..

Summary: Excellent footage of U2 on and off the stage
Review: There are many great moments of U2 performing and also off the stage where they simply take in their surroundings or discussing what this "film" is about. This is a must-have DVD for all U2 fans.

Summary: Really fun to watch
Review: If you wish you could go to a U2 concert every year, this is a fun DVD to own. It's great to just have on when you're livin' daily life. Very nostalgic for me.

Summary: Ignore the critics
Review: This movie was really good...I didn't buy it to learn about U2's past (get U2 at the End of the World or something for that), but to hear them sing. And that's exactly what I got. While Rattle and Hum has some of U2's best songs (Bullet the Blue Sky, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Angel of Harlem, and Bad), I was dissapointed to find out that All I Want is You plays during the credits. That's one of the songs that got my into U2 in the first place, and I was hoping I would see them perform it. Oh, well, I'll survive.

Definetly get this, whether you're new to U2 or an old fan.

Summary: Essential U2
Review: People who rate U2 on account of popmart have to see this. It reminds us that they became the best rock band in the world through the art of song writing and live performance, not giant lemons! The dark and grainy appearance of the picture of this DVD means you'll be listening more than watching. I always forget this is classified as a 'movie'. To be honest I bought it for the live footage and dont care too much for the interviews and mini-documentaries shown between each song. But dont get me wrong, nearly the whole movie consists of live footage from the Joshua Tree tour. Great sound quality, great songs, great band, so buy it! Even if its just to see the explosive 'where the streets have no name' performance from Arizona.
