Summary: In Concert 1971
Review: This is probably the best muddy waters DVD on the market today. (4 oct. 2004).

The DVD starts with a interview in the back of a car where Muddy tells something about his life in the Mississippi Delta.

Then Muddy Waters (56 years old at the time) plays in some kind of theater with a full size blues band. The sound quality is excellent. Way better then all the other muddy waters dvd's available (muddy waters rare perfomances 1968-1978, live at the chicago blues festival etc.)

This DVD even features 4 bonus tracks. Muddy Waters at the 1960 newport jazz festival!! The legendary perfomances of Got my mojo working, Tiger in your tank, hoochie coochie man and ....rollin' stone. When I read the back cover of the dvd I thought that was some kind of mistake. On the newport album rollin' stone is not included. But it's here and with amazing sound quality for a live outdoor 1960 recording.

If you've seen the documentary I can't be Satisfied;
when the documentary starts you'll see muddy performing long distance call. That's taken from the 1971 concert.

Musicians;

Muddy Waters - Vocals/Slide Guitar
George "Harmonica" Smith - Harmonica
Pinetop Perkins - Piano
Sammy Lawhorn - Guitar
Pee Wee Madison - Guitar
Calvin "Fuzz" Jones - Bass
Willie "Big Eyes" Smith - Drums

Songs;

Long Distance Call
Hoochie Coochie Man
Manish Boy
Walkin Thru The Park
Crawlin' Kingsnake
She's 19 Years Old
Got My Mojo working
Hold It (very short instrumental)

If you want check out the DVD "Blues Masters" (Muddy Waters performs; You can't lose what you never had and Got my mojo working). Along with 'in concert 1971' the best muddy waters on DVD.
