Summary: Don't Buy This Or Any Dixie Chicks Disc
Review: I'm "ashamed" to say that I was a big fan of the Dixie Chicks. I own this DVD, I own their CDs, and I have attended their concerts. But I won't support them in the future, and I won't listen to radio stations that do. Natalie's UK comments were unconscionable --the wrong thing to say, at the wrong place, at the wrong time. Worse, in her interview with Diane Sawyer she sought to claim for herself "victim" status, rather than to acknowledge that her comments were inappropriate. Yes, Natalie has a right to say what she thinks. Yes, she has a right to disagree with American foreign policy. But her comments were reckless, and we consumers have a right to not to financially support celebrities who choose to undermine American foreign policy at a critical time. Natalie chose to enter the political arena. The old saw "if you can't stand the heat, don't go in the kitchen" applies.

Support America. Don't support artists who lend comfort to America's enemies at a time of military conflict, when our men and women are in harm's way. Don't buy this DVD.

Summary: A Great Evening with the Chicks
Review: I have become a Chicks fan recently, but I am not really into most country music. But I like stringed instruments, close harmony, and charismatic singing, and this met all those requirements. After watching the Chicks and their fantastic collection of band members, I can understand why the they made it big when Natalie Maines joined the group as lead singer. Her style and voice fit in with Emily Robison's and Martie Maguire's harmonies to create an excellent group. Emily's galloping banjo, dobro, and guitar playing and Martie's fiddle and mandolin provide tremendous lead instrumentation. The backup band on this tour, including the quiet and unassuming Lloyd Maines, is incredible. If you like happy music interspersed with meaningful ballads delivered by a highly talented, attractive, energetic threesome, you will enjoy this DVD. There is a mixture of great songs by some great writers, such as Patty Griffin (Truth #2 and Top of the World), and some very good stuff from the Chicks (such as Martie's Cowboy Take Me Away). Natalie's charisma and out-spokeness really makes this group Fly, whether you agree with what she says or not. This group and band have tons of talent, and I think that people with a wide range of musical tastes will all find lots to really enjoy. I look forward to hearing more from this band.

Review: Let's give our money to artists that support a country that puts money into their bank accounts. These three are not it.

Summary: Chicks rock on!
Review: This work is a lively, fun-filled production that captures the girls in top form. They have worked much too hard to cave in to the backward thinking, Patriot Act loving hypocrites calling themselves Americans - the ones who boycott The Chicks for expressing their views. Hard to believe that so many Nazi-like people were following such an upbeat, cheerful band.

Chicks rock on!

Summary: Dixie Chicks Represent the Best of Texas
Review: First and foremost, this is an excellent concert that reveals the Chicks as immensely talented. The songs from the album "Home" are beautiful and comforting in these horrible times of uncertainty that we live in.

Secondly, I don't think music gets any more American than the Dixie Chicks, and I believe they represent some of the best of our culture (not to mention, the beautiful state of Texas). To label the Chicks as un-American for their political views is highly offensive. The reason our country is great is because people have a right to express their views. It is disgraceful that people are boycotting their music because they have expressed dissenting opinions. These women are not anti-American, or anti-warrior. They are anti-war, and yes, there is a big difference.

Summary: WHAT A NICE DISCOVERY
Review: I bought this DVD only because I wanted to support the Dixie Chicks, whom I'd never heard of, figuring that a lot of rednecks who don't really believe in free speech, would be boycotting them, and that that's probably their target audience.
Well, it's great -- like a visual rendering of an album, with a few additions. great voice on the lead singer. A nice self-awareness about all three of the young women. They're not too dixie, and they're not really chicks. The Stevie Nicks cover is excellent and unexpected. If Maybury turns its back on its own, I think the Chicks can feel assured that there are plenty of people in the more cosmopolitan parts of the country, where people have more disposable income anyway, who will be delighted to pick up the slack

Summary: The Single Best Music DVD I've Ever Watched
Review: I'm an avid (read: obsessive) collector of DVD's, and have over 300 in my collection, including many music DVDs. On top of that, I've rented pretty much every music DVD Netflix has to offer.

This is the best musical performance I've seen in this format.

The Dixie Chicks play their entire album "Home" from beginning to end, then throw in some older classic fan favorites. The result is breathtakingly wonderful.

It's good that Texas has the Chicks to counter the bad impression the state might get from the foibles and foul-ups of our simpleton president.

Summary: Excellent Concert
Review: AN EVENING WITH THE DIXIE CHICKS is a must have for fans of the Dixie Chicks, it features 16 performances, 12 songs from their HOME album, and four other hits from their FLY and WIDE OPEN SPACES album. The material on HOME is very ethereal and beautiful, with excellent instruments and vocals from the ladies. Their best effort yet. Among the sets highlights include rousing renditions of "Lil Jack Slade", "Long Time Gone", and "Goodbye Earl". I like the tenderness in songs like "Landslide", "Travelin' Soldier", "A Home", "More Love" etc etc. The crowd seems to love them, and the concert makes you wish you were there! Overall a great set and worth the purchase for all Dixie Chicks fans!
