Summary: To answer the Brit's question below...
Review: To the Brit who asked "why must Americans shout and scream when they recognize the beginning of a song"?...The answer of course is that, generally speaking, all real Americans LOVE to scream and shout every time the opprtunity presents itself, be it at a concert or otherwise!

Summary: Wonderful
Review: Hello..

Few occasions have in Spain of enjoying with bands in direct as those of Allison Krauss + The Union Station, for that reason this DVD is something fantastic, of the best thing that I have listened, incredible than much in the image as in the sound.. Wonderful Allison's voice, the musicians, some virtuosos that play in a fantastic way.. Only a small problem, and it is that so much in DTS with in Dolby 5.1, anything is not heard by the central speaker, I don't know if it will be an error of my DVD or of all, for that if serious something that would make him go down some points to this wonderful DVD,

Summary: AKUS DVD = disappointment for me
Review: Having read such good reviews of the AKUS DVD I was extremely disappointed with the sound quality. It sounds as if it has been recorded by someone sat in the audience with a cheap tape recorder. The echo and resonance is very pronounced and AK's conversation with the audience is almost inaudible. I am a great AKUS fan (the CD's are wonderful) and having waited for this DVD with a good deal of anticipation, I feel somewhat cheated. If you like to hear and enjoy quality music, don't buy this DVD. A visual feast but an aural disaster! PS Can anybody tell me why American audiences have to whoop and scream the place down the second they recognise a tune?

Summary: Kickass DVD
Review: If you like melodies, great lyrics, human warmth and technical virtuosity, it just doesn't get any better than this.

Summary: Alison Krauss and Union Station have come up trumps
Review: Mind blowing stuff. Alison, Dan, Jerry, Ron and Barry at their very best. The live performance at the Louisville Palace in Kentucky is the finest that I have ever seen, the venue brought out something special in each of these fine artists. Relaxing contempory bluegrass, fast paced traditional and some crossover country pop.
I received my copy yesterday, Monday August 18 and I have already seen the concert disc twice over and the second DVD once, with the exception of the "New Favorite" video which I have seen twice.
Buy this one, you won't be disappointed.
I can also highly recommend the following DVDs "High Lonesome-The Story of Bluegrass", "The Legend Lives On-Tribute To Bill Monroe", "The Three Pickers" with Earl Scruggs, Doc Watson and Ricky Skaggs. "Will The Circle Be Unbroken - Farther Along" Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. All in their own various ways are worth Five Stars and worth every penny of their purchase price.
It should also be noted that although Amazion lists these DVDs as Region 1 they ALL play on Region 4 players to PAL TV. They are most likely universally encoded. Australian purchasers can at least buy with confidence.

By the by: I've been collecting Bluegrass for forty five years now. Here in Australia Country Music is very popular, but, unfortunately not very much Bluegrass is available. There are a few Bluegrass Bands around but none of the calibre of the top U.S. artists. I am extremely grateful for the advent of DVD and the availability of Bluegrass; I can now watch and listen to my hearts content and perhaps convert more than a few friends to the genre.

Summary: Live
Review: This is truly a dynamic rendition of pure listening pleasure. Alison's voice is crisp and soothing. The Union Station add their talent and you are given a fine, worthwhile collection of music.
While not normally being a fan of 'live' recordings. This is one I'm glad to own. I was fortunate to see them in concert and this recording takes me back every time I listen to it.

Summary: Glad I found this!
Review: I wasn't an Alison Krauss fan and was'nt familiar with her music at all.....until I bought this DVD.
Awhile back, some friends that I rarely see raved about her musical abilities and suggested I check out her CD's, partictularly the one's with Union Station.
Well, I never got around to it.......until now.
I can't say enough about this DVD. The sound quality ranks up there with the best DTS ones: Eagles "When Hell Freezes Over", Steely Dan's "Two Against Nature", Diana Krall "Live in Paris", Fleetwod Mac "The Dance"...just to name a few.
Her voice is so pure, clear and efforless on this that it just blows me away. She knows how to listen to the ambience of the theatre.
I had never even heard of Jerry Douglas before, but darned if he ain't the best dang Dobro player I've ever seen play (I would rank him up there along side Clapton)....heck, the whole band does fantastic on this.
This DVD is currently my favorite concert DVD and they are very few and very far between!

Summary: Excellent!
Review: If you know AKUS, you probably have already ordered this. If you don't, then here is your chance to hear traditional music played mostly in the bluegrass style by musicians who always show that it's about the music. (Well, okay, for some of us it's about Alison's beautiful voice, and the rest of the music is the icing on the cake). I listened and watched the performance on DVD I and couldn't believe they put all of that music in only 2 hours. Buy it now, the best music DVD you may ever see.

Summary: A Remarkable Collaboration by Six Gifted Musicians
Review: A great venue,an appreciative audiance, and six of the most talented musicians in the world combine to make this one of the most enjoyable DVD concerts in years. Here are six gifted musicians who are clearly now at the top of their game. Their affection for the music, and each other, permeates this performance. Recorded with DTS surround sound capablilty, the production takes full advantage of what technolgy can now deliver. AK's history (not to mention her singing) of "Let Me Touch You For Awhile" was priceless. The best two hundred and ten minutes you will ever spend listening to some of the most evocative american music made today.

Summary: Beautiful, inspiring
Review: I am so pleased with this purchase. I've watched it twice now and I know this is the sort of performance DVD that I'm going to watch many dozens of time. The musicianship in this is top-of- the line. The vocals are especially outstanding and the songs all good quality. I really enjoy not only the outstanding talent of these musicians but also their whole attitude about performing and music. Their humility and their humanity shines through, in everything that they do.
