Summary: Queensryche rock but this dvd SUCKS
Review: After reading all the great reviews of this dvd I decided to get it, but I wish I hadn`t. This is not a review of Queensryche or their music, I love both, but the reviewers forgot to say that the entire dvd is put together with cut-shots. This makes watching the concert more like watching a 90 minute music video instead of a cohesive live show.

The camera cuts to different shots every 3 to 4 seconds for the entire dvd. It will give you a headache after a song or two. If you want to see Mindcrime performed live I suggest you get a bootleg of the show instead of wasting money on this dvd. I should have know with Wayne Isham directing it that the dvd would be shot the way it was, but I took a chance anyway and I lost. Stay far away from anything Wayne Isham directs if you are like me and can`t stand watching a concert of nothing but cut-shots.

Also just to let any of you know who may be interested in it, Iron Maiden`s "Rock In Rio" DVD is shot the same way as this dvd is. It is unwatchable and a great show was ruined by cut-shots.

Summary: Great Concert
Review: Having seen this concert live, I was more than anxious to get it. I currently only have the VHS version and wish to replace it with the DVD. This is an awesome concert to have...but only if you're a die-hard metal fan.

Summary: Awesome awesome awesome
Review: I am admittedly an Operation Mindcrime freak - the album and it's incredible story and musicianship consumed me and a group of my friends many years ago in high school. I got to see Queensryche perform on this tour and it is still one of my favorite concerts to this day. This DVD captures the the excitement, intensity, and most of all the atmosphere of Mindcrime. Add flawless performances by the band, an incredible mix and sound production (I listened with headphones in Dolby stereo, although Dolby 5.1 is an option in the menu if you're NOT watching at midnight with your wife sleeping in the next room!), and fantastic video production and you've got a video version that not only does justice to the original album, but surpasses it in the 'chills up my back' factor. If you ever debated whether Mary was murdered or killed herself, then you need to buy this DVD now, because you're a freak too, and you will LOVE this concert. If you're not a freak, buy it anyway and you will be!!! Special features could have been better, but the interview with Geoff Tate is awesome (but too short), and occasionally whoever edited the concert video clips together goofed up on synching the video to the audio - a minor gripe that probably wouldn't bother anyone else at all.

Summary: Just what I been waiting for.
Review: I had been waiting for a while for LiveCrime to come out on DVD. I am very impressed by the quality and 5.1 surround sound. the DVD played in the 5.1 mode has a lot more bottom end(a little too much)then the VHS version does. That is the only reason I gave it 4 in stead of 5 stars.

Summary: Nice Surprise
Review: I've heard the name Queensryche bandied about for ages
now but have never bothered to give them a listen for
fear of yet another boring metal band with good chops &
average songs.

But I leaped in anyway and bought this DVD out of curiosity
(I must also mention that I;m a huge FLOYD/RUSH/ELP etc. fan),

What a delight, this DVD is a pleasure to watch.

The songs are very memorable with interesting
variations to them, more prog than straight metal.
I've always been wary of operatic style
rock singers but Mr Tate does a fine job, great
control, not too much overblown vibrato and superb
pitching from low to high,a very "easy" singer to listen to

(unlike the appalling James La Brie from DT).

The guitar parts are well thought out and melodic with good
sounds and nice lead lines .The drummer & bass player too are
superb.

Overall a great "larger than life" sound, good songs &
performance very rare in this day and age of 3 chord low slung
DEE tuned Les Paul bands that all sound alike.

Still interesting after repeated viewings.

Very Good

Summary: Is it Live or DVD?
Review: I've seen Queensryche at least 4 times, maybe 5 (I lost count), one of which was during the Empire Tour that included the "Livecrime" set. I am as blown away now as I was back then. Of course taking into consideration that this tour took place in the latter half of the 80's, it still stands out as one of the best shows I've ever seen, and the DVD definitely does it justice.

A previous reviewer (who failed to proof read his review before making himself look like an uneducated moron) stated how horrible he thought it was to see Geoff Tate roll around on the stage and act so dramatic, but for anyone who knows that back then (and even now) that a Queensryche show has to include some element of theater. At least that was the case for "The Promised Land" and the "Hear In The Now Frontier" tours. In fact, for those of you lucky enough to get a ticket to their latest tour, they will be performing "Operation: Mindcrime" in its entirety once again for the first time in 15 years.

Since I won't be able to see them this time around, and for those who have never seen a Queensryche show before, this DVD is one that captures the sights and sounds of one of best live performances to date. I highly recommend it!!!

Summary: No Excuse
Review: If your a fan there is no excuse, for you not to have this in your collection, and if you want to relive this show there is no better way. All concerts should be captured this good.

Summary: i must have a flawed dvd!?
Review: My operation livecrime DVD has to be different than everyone
elses because I havent heard anyone else complain of the sound beind off from the vidio by a fraction of a second making geoff
tate look like he is lip sinking. There are no gunshots when the
anamated guns are fired.
I have the original VHS of operation livecrime and I still put it in instead, because the sound is in sinc with the vidio.
The DVD just irritates me to see the drummer hit the drums &
then you hear the hit a fraction of a second later.same with singer.
If anyone else has had this problem write it in your review.
I gave it 5 stars because i dont wont to slam this DVD if Ive just ended up with a defective DVD.
