Summary: Fantastic
Review: Aside from the rare material, the old material never looked better--even the close-ups of Agnetha's mouth before she filled in some of the gaps. A must have.

Summary: Music Videos Before They Were Invented
Review: For ABBA fans, this is a feast. These videos were designed as promotional material to be sent out to music dealers and retailers, not for showing on TV, but the direction is every bit as good as(some would say better than) modern music videos and without the obscenities of the same. The music, remastered in 5.1 sounds as if it were recorded yesterday instead of nearly three decades ago. I especially liked the last track with the group performing "Dancing Queen" for the King of Sweden and his new Queen at the royal opera house in Stockholm. Overall, an excellent production, well worth the cost.

Summary: Excellent Content - Bad Transfer
Review: The only reason I give this DVD four stars is the simple fact that out of three copies I have purchased and returned, three of the tracks (I Do, I Do, I Do..., Dancing Queen and When I Kissed the Teacher) all literally stop and/or pixelate in the middle of these particular videos. You actually have to skip forward through "I Do, I Do..." to get past it. I was highly disappointed in the this, especially since I bought this DVD for someone as a gift! The transfer from video to DVD was obviously bad! Could it be the American version? I thought it was just a fluke the first time I bought it, but like I said, it happened "3" times!

Nevertheless, my friend decided to keep it because he loves it. I do as well, but I was just hoping that modern technology had progressed by now. I guess I was wrong!

Summary: one of my favorite DVDs...BUT there's just one thing missing
Review: This seems like the most marvelous of music dvds to be released in awhile, in fact, I ADORE IT. abba are one of the most brilliant pop groups ever, thei songs are like everyone here says, pure pop masterpieces. the videos are outstanding in every single way... brings back some melancholy indeed.
i just have a question... where's the video for "lay all your love on me". i know it wasn't much of a video in the first place, but given that that's such a trademark abba song, wouldn't it have been right to include it? there, that's ONLY my rant, thank you very much. oh.. and BUY THIS. I did!

Summary: Amazing Video
Review: A super collection including almost all known Abba songs. Video editing is superb, and the DVD brings a lot of memories of that 70's and 80's episode. So, stop listening, and watch live.
Again, like many other great music DVD's, It will be perfect if the sound was remastered to Dolby digital 5.1 and DTS ( sound format is Dolby 2.0).

Summary: Well worth the money,money,money!
Review: Most likely to be the most popular super groups of the 70's,conquer all music DVD's with this collection. Packed with 35 (5 which are classed as bonus) songs,Abba's music stands the test of time. Including all thier hits such as Dancing Queen,Frenando,Mama Mia and the song which won them the Eurovision Song Contest and world wide sucsess Waterloo. All songs excluding the bonus 5 are placed in order of release and travels right through the bands career up until thier final album which include the songs When All Is Said & Done,One Of Us,The Day Before You Came and the bonus cd track Under Attack (If you haven't heard these songs before, give them a chance...they do grow on you eventually). The only thing I hoped would be diffrent is the choice of the bonus tracks which are swedish versions of When All Is Said & Done and Happy New Year, only because we have the english versions on here, also another version of Dancing Queen performed at the Royal Swedish Opera is a little waste, the opportunity to put songs like Rock Me or If It Wasn't For The Nights would have made this complete. I do like the swedish version of I Have A Dream much better than the english one,but the english version is not on this DVD. Anyhow a must have for all those who have been Abba fans in the past and new Abba fans in the present & future. You will not be dissapointed.

Summary: THIS HAS EVERTHING
Review: THIS HAS VIRTUALLY EVERY VIDEO ABBA MADE. A VERY GENEROUS COLLECTION, JUST LOOK AT HOW MANY VIDEOS ARE INCLUDED. THE VIDEOS ARE MAINLY BY LASSE HALLSTROM THE SWEDISH FILM MAKER (CHOCOLAT,MY LIFE AS A DOG, ABBA THE MOVIE). THERE IS A NICE VISUAL STYLE TO THIS COLLECTION, LOOK FOR THE TRADEMARK FRONT/PROFILE TWO SHOTS OF AGNETHA AND FRIDA. WILD FASHIONS AND SPARKLING POP PERFECTION MAKE THIS A MUST HAVE.

Summary: Pure Genius
Review: I find it ironic that most of the reviews revolve around the quality of the DVD, rather than the content. They were obviously not written by true ABBA fans, who spent their youths clamouring for 30 second bits of ABBA videos in the pre MTV wasteland. To a true ABBA fan who grew up in that era, this is a priceless collection.
I think it is important to think about what piece of pop history that this DVD represents. Think back to a time long before the "king of pop" slipped on his white sparkly glove or even longer before MTV sold their soul to a bunch of screaming fourteen year old girls only because their demographic numbers promised big fat sponsorship checks. Back when these videos were being made the whole concept of the video was brand new and they were already making multilanguage versions of their videos.
Granted: the cheesy outfits, the goofy smiles, the poorly synchronized soundtrack, the minimal sets may be distracting to a twentysomething techno head. Whether this music is deemed good or bad, ABBA represents an ingenious pioneering milestone in creating a world wide hysteria, which is just now being echoed by the marketing tactics of today's pop icons.
If you want quality techno stuff get the latest Britney Spears or Madonna DVD, but if you want to own a piece of music video history: get the ABBA DVD

Review: The audio was great. The videos where horrible. The sound
mix was out of sync in most of the videos. Not worth the
money. Better to buy the CD and sit back and enjoy the
music.

Summary: ABBA - Pure entertainment
Review: If you enjoy ABBA then this video is a must. The sound quality is not up to 2002 standards but these "promotional clips" as they were called was done 25 years ago. There is so much more to this video that it really doesn't matter. The up-tempo numbers make you want to get up and dance and the slow ones; just sit back and thoroughly enjoy. Each number has an entirely different setting to reflect the lyrics and tempo. Nothing fancy, just pure entertainment. These "clips" were done over a period of years to promote their songs since they did little touring.
The group puts a lot of energy into every song and its obvious that they enjoyed performing. Anni-Fred and Agnetha are not only easy to look at but are talented singers as evident by their solo careers outside of ABBA. There is so much activity with each song that the 10th time you watch it, you will still see something you hadn't noticed previously. These "clips" were low budget productions, but because of the creativeness of Lasse Halstrom(director & producer of the clips) they are amazingly entertaining. This is my favorite music video. You can watch it over and over and not get tired of it. So, if you really love ABBA, BUY IT, press play and enjoy. Pure entertainmnet but not Carnegie Hall.
