Summary: ABBA IS forever
Review: I went through my teens with ABBA, when others listend to AC/DC it was ABBA for me and this video shows why. Their music is forever, you won't get tired of it, it always takes you back to a magical place. ABBA GOLD is pure music. It shows 4 sweds at what they were born and love to do. Their videos are the best for their time. You will not be able to turn it off. I have been a ABBA fan since 1979. I've waited a long time for this, but now at least their music is back. Any ABBA fan will enjoy this video. There is something for everybody on this one. So, let ABBA Mania being again.

Summary: good songs. dated videos
Review: I would give the audio content 4 stars and visual content 2 stars for an overall 3 stars. They could possibly have a 5 star performance if they did a reunion concert.

Summary: ABBA Gold is PURE GOLD!
Review: If you have read the other reviews for this title, you can already see that they are all high (nearly all are the highest as a matter of fact!).

This video is fun at it's best! Not only do we see the evolution of the best pop act of all time, but for pity's sake you can't take the smile off your face while you're watching it!

Whether you're laughing at the silly outfits or just enjoying the music, I think everyone, fan or otherwise, would enjoy it! For anyone that grew up in the 70's, it's certainly a walk down memory lane.

In my opinion, these songs and all of ABBAs songs are greatly under estimated. They seem simple and bubble-gummy, but many of them are very complicated and beautiful songs. Anyone that can listen to "Chiquitia", "Fernando", "Knowing Me, Knowing You", or "The Winner Takes It All" without getting a little sentimental or lest I say teary-eyed, certainly has a heart of stone. :)

HIGH recommendations on this one and "More ABBA Gold". True guilty pleasures.

Summary: OK, but not all of the clips are real clips
Review: If you love ABBA, this is a "must have". Take a trip down to the seventies and enjoy the unique ABBA-style of each video clip. The only disappointment is that two of the video clips (i.a. Dancing Queen) are compilations of other clips, presumably made by the producers of this tape.

Summary: Music that makes you smile.
Review: One of the happiest videos that I love. Their music is superb - very upbeat, clean and not vulgar in any way like some others out there. They dress old-fashioned but then again it was made years ago. A truly fabulous CD with upbeat songs you really want to sing along with.

Summary: A real treat
Review: The Abba - Gold Greateat Hits VHS was a real treat for someone like myself who heard their music on the radio and purchased a few tapes, but had never really seen any film of them performing. Some of the videos seem kind of dated by today's standards, but the music is good so it doesn't really matter. The best segments are the songs done live in front of an audience, unfortunately there are only a few of these. Almost all the songs were great, most rocked, but the quality of their ballads varied depending on ones taste. It's amazing that these two girls could be such foxes and also have such beautiful voices. Benny and Bjorn were gifted songwriters.

Summary: ABBA: From Sweden to the world!
Review: This is probably the best group ever for millions around the world. I grew up listening to ABBA songs and loved their music then, now that the years have passed I feel I love and enjoy the ABBA music even more. Since these videos were made long time ago we can't compare them with the videos that can be done now, still they're great and worth the money you pay for, you'll be sure of that as soon as you reproduce the tape. I think it has never been a specific music video for "Lay all your love on me", the video included in this VHS is a combination of several stills and shots made for other videos. This is a must-have item for me and it should be for anyone who loves good music.
