Summary: Alkaline Trio- CHICAGO'S FINEST
Review: Alkaline Trio's performance at Chicago's Metro brings back many good memories from October 31st of 2002, and I think their best performance yet. It seems that when I watch this DVD I'm right back there, one person behind front row watching them all over again. The sound is great and really shows how lyrically talented they are. Skiba's voice is phenomenal and Dan does a great job backing him up. The encore with their song '97 is probably the best I've seen them play and you get to see it here! No doubt that this is their finest work! The quality is also very good and Alkaline Trio live is something to experience, whether on this DVD or at their concerts. You really take a piece of them home when watching this DVD. Enjoy!

Review: Good picture quality, good sound quality, nice long set list. Bonus features are skimpy, but the main body is juicy.

Summary: THIS IS SICK
Review: Holy crap Alkaline Trio is by far thee greatest band. This video proves it. It's live in their hometown of Chicago on Halloween night. Sicne it was on Halloween, they don't play any songs from Good Mourning but it makes up for it. The set list is.....
Hell Yes
Madam Me
Maybe I'll Catch Fire
Mr. Chainsaw
Take Lots With Alcohol
Cringe
Tuck Me In
I Lied My Face Off
Armegeddon
Another Innocent Girl
Queen Of Pain
Trouble Breathing
Goodbye Forever
Private Eye
Crawl
Nose Over Tail

Radio
97

They do a great job on all the songs so I can't choose a favorite. You should definitly buy this! It's worth the 16 bucks you pay at Gallery Of Sound for it!

Summary: terrible
Review: I don't know who all these people are giving this DVD 5 stars and then saying that the sound and picture are of great quality. They must be employees for Vagrant or Kung Fu Records (the company that put this out). The sound on this DVD is terrible, it's one of the worst live DVD's I have ever seen and I feel very ripped off. The volume changes constantly, and some times the video and sound don't even match up. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this DVD. Get yourself 17 JR bacon cheeseburgers at Wendy's instead.

Summary: Hmmmmm
Review: I have seen alkaline trio live on their UK tour and it was an amazing experience. This DVD is good, but it simply doesn't convey the complete rush that is an alk3 show. The sound is also quite poor but for anyone who has seen the trio live this is worth getting just for the memories of the gig that you saw.

Summary: No substitute for the real thing.
Review: I've seen the Trio a number of times and I think they're an excellent live band, but this DVD doesn't convey that. A lot of it has to do with the amateur quality of it - the shaky cameras, the relentless jump cutting, the poor dubbing. It's kind of offensive, really, that the Trio would release something so low-quality when they obviously have the means to put together a top-shelf concert DVD (or at least one where the sound and the picture even come close to matching). There are also problems with the sound that become apparent within the first two songs; "Hell Yes" and "Madam Me" are at completely different volumes. For a DVD that got delayed so many times, it sure feels like a rush job. If you're a Trio fan, you're going to buy it, but you'd be better off spending your fifteen dollars on a concert ticket next time the boys roll into your town. I, personally, cherish my memories of Trio shows much more than I do this cheap and ineffective DVD.

Summary: Pretty good
Review: Positives: Great band, great show, and while some complain about the camera work, it's a band whose members spend their time onstage standing in one spot. There's not much you can do.

Negatives: The audio was touched up. I know it sounds picky, but the cleaner audio you hear doesn't match up with your expectation of a live show.

If you like the band, buy the DVD; it's the only one out there. If you're inbetween, leave this one go until you know whether or not you like them more.
