Fans of the original musical romp Nunsense will find much to enjoy in Nunsense 3: The Jamboree, in which the slightly addled Sister Mary Amnesia has recovered her memory and realized her lifelong dream of becoming a country singer. In the hands of Vicki Lawrence (known to millions from her many years with The Carol Burnett Show and Mama's Family), Sister Amnesia remains as sweet and easily distracted as ever. There's not much of a story to this stage show, filmed at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville; it's a mix of cornball comedy bits and silly country songs, with the occasional sincere ballad thrown in. The hard-working cast members have strong voices and Lawrence has a relaxed professional stage presence that carries the show along through hammy parodies and stomping dances. Former Golden Girl Rue McClanahan reprises her role as the Mother Superior through video inserts. --Bret Fetzer
