Summary: This is the Les Miserables show...in concert.
Review: This is simply amazing. I was blown away by everything. The point outs are Michael Ball and Phillp Quast. If you haven't seen this, I suggest it. Highly. I mean it.

Summary: Les Miserables Makes History..Well That Was A While Ago
Review: Ok Let me just say that this is my favorite show, and will forever be. The cast, including Phillip Quast, and Colm Wilkinson are my favorite Val Jean and Javert, and portray the roles amazingly. Lea Salogna was the most fabulous Eponine on earth, Ruthie Henshall does amazing acting in the role of Fantine, she did a terrific job of singing the tear jerking ballot I Dreamed a Dream. Let me just say that Michael Ball is amazing aas Marius, he is adorable and sings it perfectly. And my favorite role in the show, Monsieur Thenardier, played by Alun Armstrong, of hte London Company is absolutly the best Thenardier that walked the earth. And in the song Castle on a Cloud, near the end a light drops..It does not hurt anyone, but the little girl who plays Young Cosette flinches and keeps on performing, a true performer. It is absolutly delightful being able to watch people perform the music, instead of just listening to it. It a great present for anybody who likes the show. It is my favorite DVD that I own.

Summary: Truly a DREAM CAST!!
Review: What an awesome DVD this was... Great peformances starting with Ruthie Henshall's beautiful portrayal of Fantine, and hand in hand with Colm Wilkinson's Valjean... Michael Ball is also great! What was enthralling is Lea Salonga's performance as Eponine... simply sublime... I never really liked the old version of Eponine which was weakly, and scrappy, and i didnt care for... Lea truly delivers the true Eponine, which the audince can capture and care for.... Every note she sang is filled with emotions especially in 'On My Own'... or "A Heart Full of Love".. you can feel the unrequitedness of love.. and Eponine doesnt appear weak and scrappy... and "A Little Fall of Rain".. if you dont tear up from that performance then I don't know what I can say about you... simply amazing, super-sad, super emotional!!! This DVD is great.. love Les Mis!

Summary: I love this DVD!
Review: This is the best recording of this memorable musical and I watch it over and over again. Truly, this has the dream cast. Everyone is great! Special mention goes to Lea Salonga, the ONLY Eponine actor I've seen who has a full grasp of the humanity of Eponine. She performs with so much emotion, that the character Eponine becomes a force to contend with -- she does not interpret it as some pathetic weakling that anyone can just relegate as insignificant garbage (i.e., Frances Ruffelle, Kaho Shimada, Diana Kaarina, and Sutton Foster's versions). Plus Salonga's beautiful voice is simply so captivating that one can't help but rush to her side when she shows her pain!
One reviewer said that Les Mis "is a difficult musical to perform because the intricate story and the character's feelings and motivations are communicated to the audience by the interpretation of the lyrics." Salonga shows that with with a "full grasp of the delicate weaving of acting and singing that is necessary here," the role can be delivered perfectly. Bravo to everyone in this recording!
