Summary: Spectacular and surprising performance
Review: Michael Crawford is incredible in this circus musical by Cy Coleman; I would consider it his best movie and the best show I've heard him in, excluding Phantom of the Opera. If you didn't know he is an athletic comedian as well as a Phantom, you are in for a pleasant surprise! Besides Crawford, the entire cast seems strong, and the overall spectacle made me, for one, want to join the circus!

Summary: The ultimate Barnum!
Review: Michael Crawford is super. Watching this show it's hard to imagine doing this over 1400 times. I have seen the American movie version and there is absolutely no comparison! This is a must have for anyone who enjoys circus movies, musicals or both!

Summary: Next to POTO, Michael Crawford at his best!
Review: Michael Crawford is wonderful as P.T. Barnum. We get the opportunity to witness his incredible ability as a circus performer. We also are completely amazed at his deliverance of songs, whose words would leave most of us tripping over our tounges!

This is a must see for any Michael Crawford fan. If you can not buy it, rent it and if you can not rent it, borrow it! You will be as enchanted as you were with Phantom!

Summary: A West End Legend
Review: Michael Crawford stars as Barnum in the television special that was filmed during the show's lengthy West End run.

Eileen Battye is marvellous and heartbreaking as Barnum's long-suffering wife Charity, who longs for him to hang up his whip, and work at the Bridgeport Clock Factory.

Along the way,Barnum encounters and hires Joyce Heth, the oldest woman in the world, and 'George Washington's Nanny',(Sharon Benson),the 'Swedish Nightingale',Jenny Lind (Christina Collier) and Tom Thumb (Paul Miller).

A musical feast which features the songs 'I Like Your Style','Love Makes Such Fools Of Us All','Thank God I'm Old','One Brick At A Time','Black And White','The Colors Of My Life',and many great dance numbers.

Summary: Michael Crawford a Broadway Treasure
Review: Most know Michalle Crawford as the Phantom from Andrew LLoyd Webber's musical and appreciate the range of of voice. But few know really how gifted this man is until they see him in Barnum Not only does he act, sing and dance...but he walks a tightrope (with no net)...Brilliant

Summary: Exuberance!
Review: Surely one of the best live theater performances currently available on DVD, this is an exuberant, energetic, dazzling show for the whole family. Combining circus and theater, the stage is full of jugglers, tumblers, and clowns. Crawford is magnetic (and this from one who didn't really like him in Phantom) -- he even walks across a high wire at one point -- and the song and dance numbers are a delight. Even though I watched this late at night, I never once looked at my watch. It's a fantastic show. The DVD alas offers no extras (why couldn't we have had a commentary with Crawford and director Terry Hughes) and not even a one sheet inside with the songs listed. Cheap, cheap goes the distributor, Waterbearer Films, but luckily the show makes it worth every cent.

Summary: The Greatest Show on Earth
Review: The musical Barnum was created by Cy Coleman and Michael Stewart. The concept has the story of P.T. Barnums life told appropriately enough on a circus stage. In addition to very exciting and beautiful music, performers are trained in the art of circus acrobatics, filling the show with spectacle that needs to be seen to be believed. This release of the London Cast and starring Michael Crawford of PHANTOM OF THE OPERA fame, fills the screen with color and fun. Recorded live, we should all be grateful to have a document of this entertaining show. The DVD has no special features, just the show...

Summary: Very well-done and entertaining video.
Review: This production makes you feel like you are actually in the theater. Michael Crawford is stupendous in the lead role. He's amazing in his circus stunts. The circus atmosphere is exciting and fun. The story-line is interwoven gracefully and is a wonderful love story - very sensitive and funny at the same time. I liked it very much!

There are a few places where the sound fades out a bit and a few places where the color fades out on faces, but these technical problems are not serious.

Summary: Michael Crawford is the most talented entertainer ever.
Review: This video is funny, exciting, entertaining, has wonderful music and a sweet touching story-line. The price is not too high. I got my money's worth the first time I watched it.
