Summary: What's the deal with that Michael Mant guy???
Review: Did anybody else notice that really scummy/shady looking guy who played the part of the porn star in the porn movie that the two main characters watched. I watched for the credits. His name is Michael Mant, and god, what a shaddy character he is. He gives me the willies. I would never leave my children alone around him.

Summary: Waste of money
Review: Do not waste your money. There are so many better movies on here like swimming with the sharks. This movie tries to be like that one but not as harsh. What happens is that it drags on. There a bunch of irratating sterotype actors running around in this chase scene type of action. One is a ditzy secretary, another one is the dumb kid, then the angry boss, then the stoner roommate trying to be like pauly shore saying "dude" all the time. In a couple scenes the camera was bouncing around like some sort of wedding video. Beware: Low budget movie with slick front cover work. They sell amateur porn like this too, but you dont see that for sale around here. Tape it when it comes on showtime, unless they got wise over there too.

Summary: Very funny- worth adding to your collection
Review: Highjacking Hollywood is the story of an aspiring, young screenwriter/director Henry Thomas) who comes to L.A. seeking fame and fortune but ends up as a low level production assistant working under a tyranical boss (Scott Thompson). Kevin's fortunes turn when he meets his sleazy new roommate, Tad (Neil Mandt), and the two come up with an idea to turn the tables on the production company Kevin works for.

The film's fast pace, great dialogue, plot twists and a different "Hollywood" ending make it a lot of fun to watch.

Henry Thomas is great as Kevin, who goes from clueless neophyte to sophisticated dealmaker in the course of the film. Scott Thompson is very funny in his role as the evil boss- "Work will set you free!" ,he screams at employees from his office and then goes back to his video games.

Neil Mandt has just the right sleaze quotient as Kevin's Viper driving, Armani clad roommate Tad, who always has a film "in development"- even though he shares a one room apartment with Kevin.

Nothing about this film says "low budget", which is amazing. After I saw the movie I found out that Mandt not only stars in it, but wrote, directed and produced it as well, all on a shoestring budget.

I rented this movie at random at the video store, because the title sounded intriguing, and it became one of my favorites. If you like "inside" Hollywood stories or just want to watch a refreshingly funny movie with a different twist, check this one out.

Summary: Disturbing
Review: I found this movie disturbing. It is one thing to watch a movie expecting to see a lighthearted plot centering around hijacking and ransoming a movie by a production assistant, but it is another to watch a dead dog get shot at and a revolting porn scene with a guy that makes Ron Jeremy look like Tom Cruise.

I have read the reviews below and was appalled at the porno guy's scene. What the hell was that guy wearing? And the facial expressions he was making...heinous.

Summary: Wacky stuff
Review: I liked this creative movie very much. The characters were well played, specifically the character of "Porno Guy" played by Mike Mandt. Mandt stole the show and has become an icon with a cult following. Unfortunatly, Mandt is engaged to be married so I guess all those young men and women who had posters of him on the wall are upset. His portrayal of a porn star in Hijacking has sadly caused him to be typecast as a sleazy, sick and twisted, sexually perverted deviant villan. I'm sure he will eventually make a move into the adult movie buisness.

Summary: Mike Mant, the porno, guy is on the clock
Review: So, what exactly is the deal with that shady porno guy -- Mike Mant -- who appears in this movie?? He seems like like a decent guy despite his incredibly poor acting skills; what was the deal with his facial expressions? I know he was trying to replicate the look of guy in the middle of having sex, but he instead had the disturbed look on his face of a guy who has just been put on the clock because he has been dating a girl for years and just found out that his good friend got engaged after dating someone for only eight months. He really needs to work on his acting skills.

Summary: Mike Mant -- the most ungodly looking human/act imaginable
Review: There is this seen in this movie where the characters watch a pornographic film -- which in itself is not offensive. What is offensive, disgusting, anti-catholic, vomit inducing is the male character in that film. He is one of the more frightening individuals I have ever seen, may god have mercy on his soul.
