Summary: AIWA products are the best on the market
Review: This is one of six Aiwa products I own. I have had it for almost 2 years (since it came out in 1998). As for the CD player... never had any real problems. Once, the lens was dirty and just needed cleaning, most likely because I really don't take the best care of my stuff. Other things to mention: As far as picking a stereo with the best overall quality, price, power, and amount of features - this system is your best choice.

Summary: Fine little system
Review: This is the second Aiwa system I have owned, and I haveyet to have a problem. The best feature about this system is theDolby 5.1 input jacks. When hooked up to a Dolby Digital processor, the sound quality goes up exponentially. You would not believe how much better it sounds than in the normal Pro-Logic mode. Even the rear surround speakers prove to be quite good performers. All in all, I am very pleased with this system. With all the features it has compared to most current shelf systems, this is a real bargain. END

Summary: Beats a boombox, maybe
Review: To be honest, I've had better sound from two tin cups on strings. But everything arrives in one box and Amazon will ship it right to your door - and for a 5 channel surround system, the price is right. There are all kinds of DSP (digital signal processing) options you can use to tweak the sound if you're not using a 5-channel input (high end VCR's and DVD players provide this for movie watching); but these options have the habit of cancelling themselves at the drop of a hat. Luckily resetting them is easy.

There are all the bells, whistles, karaoke, equalizer, bass booster, dynamic range/compression utilities you could ask for; there's even a drum machine to add rhythm and a slot-machine like irritating game which is, most unfortunately, the machine's default setting. (You can make it show the clock by pressing 'clock' each time you power off.)

For the price, you get loud, low-end sound, a 3-CD changer, and decent 2-tape and tuner capability. I run my computer sound out through it too, in the mini-disc port, with no problem. I'd buy it again, with no illusions about audiophile-quality sound, just because it annoys my neighbors.

Summary: Don't waste your money on minisystems from Aiwa (aka: Junk)!
Review: Well, after reading several other reviews, it seems that I can add my name to the long list of angry customers who wasted their money on Aiwa products. I, too, have a "wonderful" stereo that now refuses to play any CD's after only a year and a half! This has happened to my parents after two years. This has also happened to my friend who has had her stereo for about a year and a half. Beware all of you who rave about your wonderful Aiwa stereos. The CD players will most likely break in a few years. Have fun! The moral of the story is: DON'T BUY AIWA STEREOS!

Summary: Good things come in this small package.
Review: What a nice surprise, a product that delivers what it promises and a whole lot more. This is a powerful little package with enough punch to knock your socks off. The karaoke feature is fun and easy enough for the entire family. You can bet we'll be singing Christmas Carols with the help of the Aiwa NSX-MT920 299 Watt Home Theater Mini System. This is a must have if you love music and the price, lets just say I really shopped around and this price was almost ½ of the next lowest price I found. Hurry and snatch this up before they realize how under priced they are.

Summary: Powerful System... but it has some problems.
Review: When I first took out this sound system, I was decently impressed. I have had it for 2 months now and everything has worked perfectly, but as others have commented, I am thinking the cd drive may break because it has made an odd squeaking noise when it rotates.... Otherwise, it's a great system with some good power but not the greatest clarity. The surround speakers are rather low quality though. The rest is great, so go buy it, because 299 watts for this amount of money is too good to pass up!

Summary: Better than BOSE
Review: Wow, how do I explain the quality of the sound of this complete system? I have a Bose sound system and this is just as great, if not better. I added a subwoofer to my system to give it an even more bass boost. If you have a DVD player, you're in for something great. It is BETTER THAN THE MOVIES! Wait untill you hear the center speaker. It has great features like karaoke, dolby pro logic, and DSP surround sound. This is THE BEST!
