Summary: Great movie, but not much different then "R" Version
Review: Anyone thinking the unrated version is going to have extended motel or pool scenes will be sorely disappointed in this "unrated" version. I think there was maybe one extra scene. The difference in the two can be summed up using an expression of Adam Sandler's, "Big Whoppedee Do".

So if you have the "R" version already, save your $15 bucks.

Summary: Not Sexier but Completeness
Review: This new unrated edition emphasizes 'Sexier' and 'Hotter' on the keep case; however, the actual 'sexier' and 'hotter' parts are not the pictorial scenes but the completeness of this thriller ending.

Unlike the 2001 'R' rated edition, this unrated release only provides widescreen anamorphic format, no director's commentary, no deleted scenes, only some previews trailers like 'Wild Things 2'. Quite obvious, this new release is purposely to help the promotion of the new 'Wild Things 2' (which released on the same date and you probably can see them placing together at your DVD stores), and also to attract movie collectors to acquire this special unrated version in their collection.

Anyhow, the movie is brilliant, with lots of twists, it's hard to guess what's the ending and who's the ultimate winner of that eight million dollars. At the end of movie, some extra scenes are added to explain all the twists in the plot. Those are not found from the deleted scenes section in the 'R' rated edition DVD. Overall, it's a great film, and still highly recommended.

Summary: UNRATED?
Review: I dont really see what the difference is between the unrated and r rated version of this dvd. Why do they always release unrated dvd versions years later the originally released?

Summary: Unrated edition?
Review: First, the pros: excellent picture quality/sound, and a great film. Now the cons: no full screen option(like on the 'R' rated version)no extras(like on the 'R' rated version)no commentary. All you get is a talent file extra. And as for the 'unrated' labeling, I didn't see but a few scenes at the end of the film during the credits and some new dialogue. Certainly not the hype as listed on the keep case. In my opinion, the 'R' rated version is a better disc, but if you really liked this movie, you should have it for the improved crystal-clear picture quality.

Summary: 1/2 Good Actors 1/2 Bad Actresses
Review: Neve Campbell and Denise Richards "Acting"...that's laughable. Yet Kevin Bacon's uncompromisable performance (akin to his 1,000's of other roles) is in line with the great acting we've come to expect from him. The thing is, he plays "sleazy" so well, its hard to expect anything else from him. Personally, Dillon doing "Singles" is the one saving grace for him that I have, he also does have some other memorable roles, but the fact that he most likely did sleep with his co-stars off screen, as well as on, leads me to believe he had alterior motives in choosing this script. I can't help but feeling like a little highschooler trying to witness some of the "action" in adult movies while watching this film. The script seems to be derived from a high schooler after all. I'm guessing this was filmed in a couple of weeks, in between the actors other projects.

Summary: Ha Ha! Please...
Review: Wild Things is a movie that has it all.

It has corruption, deception, intrigue, and an investigation that delves into the deep, dark realm of criminal...

No, really, it's an excuse to see two very attractive women in extremely ludicrous situations with Matt Dillon which by itself earns a couple of snorts.

Several questions arise if this movie is, indeed, "brilliant". What police investigator is so stupid as to let this case initially stump them? How can the rest of the department be so stupid? How can the audience NOT see this "plot twist" coming? Why isn't the word "melodrama" not found anywhere on the back cover of this DVD?

I rented this movie with a couple of friends one night. My favorite scene involves Denise Richards on the stand. "He had his hands...you know...in both places..." My reply was instant: "What...one hand in each nostril?" One of the girls at this party was laughing so hard that we had to stop the movie for about 5 minutes before she could regain composure. After getting a glare from her boyfriend, I did my utmost to restrain myself.

But let's face it. The dialog is insipid and the plot is contrived. Seriously...would the movie REALLY have gotten the same attention if both the female leads were played by Kathy Bates and Whoopi Goldberg? No offense to brilliant actresses, by the way -- the point simply is to say that this film is aimed at the shallow average young male going nowhere above the physical.

Personally, I don't let my film choices be shadowed by physical appearance which probably is the reason why this film was so unappealing to me.

Summary: A true gem!!
Review: If you like:
- a story that gives you a twist every 15mins, non-stop,
- a real clever story,
- some steamy sex scene (from beautiful Denise Richards - therefore you need this unrated version),
- some violence that is not graphical, but subtle,
- this cleverness carries truly to the last second, i.e. the clips at the end of credit are not merely jokes or deleted scenes, they truly review further details about the story - which make you rethink the whole plot again,
- probably you will re-watch the whole movie again just to get another insight (like Sixth Sense, Memento, Usual Suspect etc).
Then this is the movie.

Summary: good movie with lota twist and turns
Review: The movie is played by two gorgeouse babes nev cambel and denise richards. The movie like I said had alota twist and turns.
The teacher played by matt dilan is accused of raping of his students who is played by denise richards. Later they find out that dilan is innocent. As the allegded victom nev cambel tells what really happens but thats not over. Soon you will find out a tale of revenge, murder, payback as this movie unravels the trueth with twist and turns wich will keep you watching till the very end of the movie.
The characters are well developed.
The plot is good for some people like me.
The girls were very sexy and provacative specially cambel.

So if you use your basic instincts on this youll see if you enjoy it.

By the way I kept hearing how the 3 some is the only good part in the movie. I mean yeah the movie is good but the 3 some was like less than 3 minutes. Hell it was less than 2 minutes.
I wish they had of made it longer but oh well.

The dvd features are all right the quality is good.

So go with your instincs and check this movie out.

Summary: Calling this a guilty pleasure is an understatement
Review: John McNaughton (Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer) directed this purposely sleezy erotic potboiler with a plot so convulted and loaded with so many twists you won't know what to make of it by the time the credits roll. Wild Things is one of those films in the vein of Basic Instinct and even Showgirls that is pure overproduced Hollywood trash, but you can't turn your head away. The story revolves around a respected Florida teacher (Matt Dillon) who is accused of rape by a wealthy student (Denise Richards) and a "wrong side of the tracks" student (Neve Campbell in goth/punk chick mode). All the while a seedy detective (Kevin Bacon) is on to them all, but as we soon learn after the first half hour of the film, nothing is as it seems. Bacon (who also served as executive producer), Campbell, Dillon, Richards, and the always fantastic Bill Murray play it straight, but Wild Things is best enjoyed for it's infamous visual thrills (including the threeway between Dillon, Campbell, and Richards, and Bacon's revealing shower scene) rather than it's story, and as a whole this film is a bona fide guilty pleasure worth watching again.
