Summary: Classic Eddie
Review: Not since Beverly Hills Cop and 48 hours had Eddie Murphy made such a great movie. Boomerang was smart, sexy, funny and educational. There was great star power with Eddie, Martin Lawrence, David allen Grier, Halle Berry, Grace Jones and Robin Givens....man, what a cast....

Summary: RIP to the SNL Eddie and hello... to the new Mr. Murphy
Review: This is a transitional film. It's funnier than Eddie Murphy's latest roles. But it's not as funny as his earlier ones ( Trading Places , 48 hrs. , Coming to America , ect.. ). Atleast not , on his part. However , his " downplayed" performance , helped Chris Rock's, Martin Lawrence's, Robin Given's , David Allen Grier's , and Hally Berry's performances, stand out. Eddie Murphy is so instinctively funny , that I believe he intentionally made an effort to water down and tame his character. Either, due to his attempt at becoming a "serious" actor or internalizing his parenthood respnsibilites , or consciously making an effort to change his image , accepting his role as a leading , visible black actor. Pick your own choice , as to why ...but there's no denying that he could've been funnier. However , on a contrasting level...his acting has never been better , up to that point.I love watching acting and I can tell that this marked the " maturing" of Eddie. The young , daring , flamboyant comic died , in this film. The budding , mature , comedic , actor , replaced him. Plan and simple. Boomerang isn't a great film. But it's a respectable one. And the addition of young and up coming actors , make this a memorable film. Great soundtrack and direction. The script is good also. But when you mix that with obvious scenes of improv from creative actors/actresses....it only gets better. I recommend this for any Eddie Murphy fan. But if you only like the early SNL Murphy...you'd be better off getting the Murphy films , made, previous to this one. And seek some counseling..because you're obviously incapable of change. As far as Eddie Murphy is concerned... after this film ...the OTAY ! , days are officially over.

Summary: Jacqueline and Angela
Review: This is my favorite African-American movie of all time. I truly have to give credit to Reginald Hudlin for doing this movie, and for also doing "House Party." But what I really want to talk about is the two female characters: Jacqueline(Robin Givens) and Angela(Halle Berry). One day I was watching the DVD and I had it set on the "commentary by the director." What caught my attention was when Reginald Hudlin said something like how most women are the Hallies. And that is so true. Like he explained, most of us women relate more to Halle Berry's character who was shy and insecure, wanting to be so much like Robin Givens's character who was like a powerful stylish career woman. But even though Angela wasn't as glamorous as Jacqueline, Angela was the chosen one that changes Marcus(Eddie Murphy) and his ways, shows him the real true meaning of love, and at the end, Angela is the one that he wants to be with.

Summary: Excellent!!!!
Review: This is my favorite movie by Eddie. Right after Coming to America. I truly feel this movie brought out the foot fetish in a lot of men, and the reason so many women go have pedicures done!!! Anyone who has seen this movie over and over again, know exactly what I'm talking about.

The reason I enjoy this film so much, his character is that player, that finally admits that he has found love. It's a funny, sweet film. Great cast in this film. A must have for that DVD collection for sure.

Summary: One of my favorites....
Review: This is one of my favorite movies - I thought it was hilarious. Especially Allan Greer's (sp) father and his mushroom suit! That part always makes me laugh. The only thing I didn't like about it was this imaginary "black" world that was created. There was only one white person in the whole movie and of course they had to make that one white person appear to be geeky or stupid. The entire corporation was made up of black people and even walking down the street there were only black people. These days if there was a white film that didn't have any black people at all then there would be a big uproar about it. I think movies like this separate races rather then bring them closer. In black America it is socially acceptable making fun of white people (dancing and speaking), but if it were reversed then WATCH OUT! Anyway, take the black/white separation from the film and it would have been much better. The ending was great too!

Summary: Once Again Eddie Represents For The Black Community!!
Review: This is one of my favourite 'black movies'. A lot of bad press has been passed around this movie. I suppose it's because it's a bit racist ......I suppose :) Anyways it's not offensive and if your not black then maybe you would like to peak into the minds of black people and the minds of 'players'. Not the latest effects and storyboard tricks, but watch it a few times and you'll fall in love with it!!

Summary: Comedy/Love Classic!
Review: This is one of those movies I just have to watch anytime it's on tv. I've had the VHS for a while and probably have worn a hole in it. Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence, David Allen Grier, Chris Rock, and John Witherspoon all in one movie, funny as hell. Plus the beautiful Halle Berry and Robin Givens. Definate Classic!
