Description:

The Audiovox DV1532, which integrates its five-disc progressive scan DVD player with a 5.1-channel surround-sound system, turns your living room into a comprehensive home theater for movies, sporting events, and concert DVDs. The unit's progressive scan feature guarantees the sharpest picture possible for DVD-Video, with a signal that offers double the scan lines of conventional DVD images when played on high-definition or HD-ready TVs. The system comes with an AM/FM tuner and also offers compatibility with audio CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3, and JPEG formats, letting listeners enjoy not only prerecorded CDs but soundtracks they created themselves. DVD movies sound terrific due to the built-in Dolby Digital and Pro Logic II decoders, which deliver a remarkably natural sense of ambiance and realism. In addition, the system offers other sound adjustments--including movie, music, and matrix modes--that vary depending on whether the user is watching big-budget action films or listening to delicate arias.

The DV1532 divides its 200 watts of power among four satellite speakers, a center channel speaker, and a powered subwoofer. The system also includes such favorite DVD functions as multi-angle playback, zoom, slow motion forward and reverse, chapter and title skip, secondary audio (when available), programmable memory, and repeat playback. Viewers can even switch between 4:3 pan scan, 4:3 letterbox, and 16:9 widescreen modes to increase their video options. In addition, each of the speakers is magnetically shielded to protect the picture from distortion.

Users can connect to a high-definition TV through the component video output. Addition outputs include one composite input and one output, an S-video output, and a digital audio output. The system comes with a remote control and carries a 90-day warranty against defects.
