Summary: If the President were only this nice
Review: Dave is one of those rare films that connects comedy with fairy tale. After what the nation has been through with the Clinton scandals and the contraversy of the 2000 election, this film has a gentility that is too be admired.

The performance of Kevin Kline is worth the price of the DVD. He continues to be one of our finest actors. Actually, he is a great reactor. Pay special attention to the scene when he examines himself as both Dave and the President. The chemistry between Kline and Signourney Weaver is also capitivating. I suggest you rent The Ice Storm to really appreciate their collaboration in Dave.

Finally, pay close attention to Charles Grodin. He steals the scenes in which he appears without saying a word.

Summary: Want to see a truly fabulous movie? Look no further!
Review: What can I say about this film? It's pretty much my all time favourite, it just has so many quality's. I'm a big fan of other Ivan Reitman films, but this one just has a excellent cast, Kline is superb as Dave Kovick, with top notch support form Weaver and co. The story, ok, may not be likely to happen, but it's the moral issues and the point of someone in power making it their goal to help other people at all cost. Forget about taxes and useless red tape, helping people plain and simple. I've watched this many times, and it truly beats any mindless action film every time. Watch it, I guarantee you'll love it.

Summary: A substitute teacher
Review: This movie is similar to "Moon Over Parador (1988) ASIN: 155880031X" only a little closer to home. This time it is the President of the US that over indulges. And Kevin Kline [French Kiss (1995) ASIN: 6303617719] gets occupy the presidential position for the stability of the country.

The people that actually handle the President spotted a job recruiter who acts like the President, in commercials. And eventually recruited himself to substitute for the President. Naturally the President that is on a recreational tour has a debilitating stroke. This leaves the Chief of Staff, Frank Langella [Sphinx (1980) ASIN: 6300271765] The opportunity to place a fake President in place instead of the Vice President. You can guess the rest when the substitute teaches us. My favorite scene is where Charles Grodin [Heaven Can Wait (1978) ASIN: 6300213676] is helping right the national budget.

Summary: Lighthearted and Refreshing
Review: I work on Capitol Hill and thoroughly enjoyed this love story/comedy. Its idealistic approach to Washington was refreshing and uplifting. Kevin Klien was a perfect casting choice.

Watch this film for some good laughs and for a lighthearted escape into a world where hope and optimism are abundant.

P.S. There really are politicians like Dave in Washington (Congressman Wally Herger, Congressman Jeff Flake and Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton)

Summary: Dave - A movie to enjoy
Review: If there are any dead ringers for George W. Bush or Al Gore, let's hope that this fantasy film precludes reality! It's hard to watch "Dave" and not smile. Kevin Kline does a great job as both the President and his imposter. The cameo appearences are also great with everyone from Tip o'Neil to Oliver Stone getting into the act. This is great entertainment and it should have received better tratment by the critics and a warmer reception at the box office. Those who find bloody shoot-em-ups with frequent foul language (a-la-Pulp Fiction) probably won't enjoy Dave, but anyone who likes to be entertained with a light hearted "what-if" story will watch this movie more than once.

Summary: Cute and Funny
Review: I have watched this movie over and over again and each time I fall in love with Kevin Kline. There are two great reasons to watch this movie....a quick cameo appearance of Oriole Park at Canden Yards...and the scene where Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver sing for a cop is a great laugh. This is a charming movie worth watching multiple times.

Summary: The way it should be
Review: Kevin Kline plays this role to perfection as the gentle look-alike to a hard, lying President. When Dave is forced to play president, he takes to the role with gusto, bringing an earnestness and honesty to the office that leaves the viewer longing for a man like his character in office This movie will leave you smiling, and maybe a bit misty-eyed. Modern classic comedy.

Summary: This will cheer you up!
Review: Definitely among the top 10 of Newton Howard's works, 'Dave' soundtrack is the kind of music that just cheers you up. Thirteen gentle, playful, warm, melodious (and at times suspense) tracks wait on this CD to bring the emotional man out of you. Also, the music perfectly captures the atmosphere of the movie and Kevin Kline's wonderful performance as Dave. As an enthusiastic soundtrack-collector, I encourage everyone to include this album in their collection, on account of Newton Howard's technical brilliancy and emotional touch. Buy it!

Summary: A Great Idealistc movie
Review: This is a great example of how funny Kevin Kline can be. I mean, this is one of his best, if not his best work. With great back up from Weaver and Reitman as the Director this movie is a great one that appeals to everyone. An absolute must-have for any video collection.

Summary: CHARMING
Review: This movie is a real pleasure. It is funny, romantic, heart warming and enlightening. If you like to be left happy and positive at the finish of a film then this will deliver. Even a action/horror fan like myself could not help but be charmed by this little gem.

The wonderful script is supported by a brilliant cast headed by Weaver and Kline who give one of the best performances of their illustrious careers. It is a shame, however, that more effort was not put into the dvd presentation, a directors commentary would have been nice on this one, ah well! I guess we can't have everything.
