Summary: Meg and Matthew visit the Dark Side
Review: Matthew Broderick and Meg Ryan are gifted comic actors, and they are entertaining in this dark comedy. While the characters begin the movie in a plot for revenge against their former lovers, their ridiculous and immoral plans explode. While the romance makes light of a serious problem (stalking), the movie itself is more sweet than bitter because of the characters' insights, failures, and romance. Neither Broderick's nor Ryan's best film, but definitely enjoyable if you are in the mood for a biting look at love.

Summary: Oh so funny!
Review: Matthew Broderick as the boy with the beautiful girl he doesn't think he deserves, and Meg Ryan as the girl with the bad boy she shouldn't want. The fun starts when the beautiful girl and the bad boy get together and fall in love. Matthew starts out just wanting to see his former beloved, while Meg has more sinister plans. What happens after that is true comedy. For those of you who find the movie a little farfetched, you're right! Come on, this is a movie! It wouldn't happen in real life, or at least no one would admit to it, but that's what makes it so hillarious. The supporting cast in this one is great, too.

Summary: PAYBACK!
Review: payback... is there anything more romantic than plagueing a past lover with torture and torment? is there anything more gleeful than watching courtship cross over into stalking? this movie has it... they even manage to almost redeem themselves in the end...

Summary: Meg Ryan attemps to be tough, Broderick is bland.
Review: Personally this is my least favorite movie starring Meg Ryan. Meg does really good playing the tough biker girl, but the movie has a hard time catching up with her in every aspect. The acting is not very good on the exception of Meg. Matthew Broderick is very boring, bland, and overall bad. The plot is unrealistic, and all in all is only good to watch one time. One thumb down, and one thumb up for this movie. Sorry.

Summary: his is the perfect movie for boring a weekend.
Review: Pros:

*Neat plot.

*Good performances.

*Humorous.

*Creative (the spying scenes are spectacular).

*Meg Ryan is simply the perfect romantic comedy star. She always glows, both talent-wise and beauty-wise.

Cons:

*Although Matthew Broderick was almost better than usual, he still is Matthew Broderick. He's still cold. It looks as if he has no feelings whatsoever, be they joy, surprise, sadness, anger, or whatever. He doesn't play them well.

Bottom line: Humor-wise, it's excellent. The French guy is hilarious! Romance-wise, ok, but just ok, nothing more. Maybe if someone other than Matthew played the part...Matthew isn't that a good romanitc comedy star.

Overall an entertianing experience.

Summary: Dark Comedy in Need of a Few More Laughs
Review: Quirky dark comedy, isn't quite successful but tries for something different and nearly succeeds.

It's a comedy about stalking and getting revenge on your ex-lovers. Meg Ryan plays against her type and succeeds with a well cast Mathew Broderick as her accomplice in criminal behavior. Meg Ryan wants revenge on her ex-boyfriend and Broderick wants his ex-girlfriend back. Their exes are dating each other and Ryan and Broderick join forces to stalk their former lovers and in the process get to know each other. There's some real slow parts and the obsessive cruelty of Meg Ryan's character gives things at times too dark an edge-but I appreciate films that don't play it safe like this one.

Don't expect the laughs to be too plentiful and enjoy this quirky film.

It marks the feature film directing debut of actor (After Hours)Griffin Dunne.

If you liked After Hours and King of Comedy, you'll probably enjoy this one a lot.

Summary: Sweet, funny and highly recommended!
Review: Ryan and Broderick make a beautiful couple onscreen. They have such limpid chemistry and comical compatibility that make all the difference in this film.

Ryan and Broderick play two characters trying to reclaim their love objects, and in the process find new ones. The comedy is part of the plot as we see both characters bid their old love farewell and embrace their new one with sweet passion. This is an amazing story of love and letting go of love. It's a story of sacrifice and pride. It's a story really for the romantic in all of us. I enjoyed it!

Review: Stick in the mud Sam (Matthew Broderick) stays home while his, looking for life, Linda (Kelly Preston) goes to the big city and is seduced by a French restaurateur (Tchéky Karyo). Naturally Sam gets the courage to recover his lost love and is detoured by her flamboyant affair. So he plots and plans to get her back using devious methods. Inter a mysterious intruder Maggie (Meg Ryan). Looks like Frenchie has an ex with the same intention as Sam.
