Summary: Never seen anything like it.
Review: The Hidden is a great movie to watch around 11:30 PM on a Friday night with a big bowl of popcorn and soft drink. It has the feel of a low budget movie, but surprises you with its graphic effects. The effects and movie plot manage to maintain one's interest throughout the entire movie.

Although some parts may be a little gross, it falls in line with movies made during the '80s.

I would definitely recommend this movie.

Summary: I'm not coming out yet..
Review: The Hidden is a very entertaining film, it starts off with a bang..or should I say bank, which is where the shooting begins,
The plot/story is simple, alien on earth moving from body to body and using it for evil purposes. The film doesn't really explain how the alien came here. The start of the film the cops are chasing the alien (Chris Mulkey) who is driving a black ferrarri with heavy metal music blasting. The alien's favorite 2 earthly things.
He doesn't make it through the cops' roadblock and ends up in the hospital where we see the alien in it's true form. I must
say it was dissapointing, the alien looked like a snail without it's shell (i'm picky). We then see it go into the other patients mouth who quickly comes to life and leaves the hospital.

Enter Kyle McLachlan who play the "good" alien FBI who has been pursuing the "bad" alien for 9 years..(our time).
An enjoyable movie with good acting and a good ending.
What I didn't understand was what was the connection between Kyle McLachlan's character and the daughter of Michael Nouri??
anyway..good entertainment!

Summary: Awful.
Review: The Hidden is boring sci-fi action. It's basically a cliched and derivative plot that features lame shootouts, excruciatingly bad dialogue, inept direction, and lame acting. Stick with The Terminator or Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Summary: Buy It Today !!!
Review: The Hidden is one heck of a fun movie. An evil alien comes to earth and falls in love with all things human: fast cars, guns, drink, and carnel urges. Unfortunately the alien enters us humans and when the body wears out it goes into the nearest one available!!! Be prepared for violence and bad language -- also some really great effects. The only way the alien can be killed is by weapon not of this earth-another alien a good one has also come to earth and is in the body of an FBI agent killed when both aliens crashed on earth. So if you like action, comedy and just plain funnnn buy it today!!!

Summary: Everything in One Film
Review: This film as all the elements of a good "B"-movie: good storyline, better special effects, and a good cast. All of those are the makings of something that has influenced at least a few outgoing moviemakers, like "The Evil Dead" or "Re-Animator".

Although this is an out-and-out sci-fi film, I saw this film as an action-adventure, edge-of-your-seat film that has been very underrated.

Summary: Insanely good
Review: This gets compared to "The Terminator" a lot, but I actually think this film is even better than THAT sci-fi classic. Maybe because it's deeper and uses the L.A. locale to great effect. Or maybe it's the acting, which is terrific. Even the lower-billed actors create an indelible impression (like a pre-Law and Order Richard Brooks). But there's other layers to this film that I think are overlooked - this is a really satirical film. The alien is obsessed with loud music, fast cars, and in the end, power. All very human qualities, I think. And then there's the emotional undercurrent of the story. This is a film that doesn't rely just on action but on the sadness of Kyle McLachlan's character, especially when it is contrasted with the happiness of Nouri's home life. That aside, this is also a kick-ass action film. This flick should be examined by those who want to know how to create an exciting story with minimal expostion. It starts out with that tremendously horrifying bank robbery, followed by a car chase that gets more violent as it goes on. And there's a number of bloody shootouts, each one more relentless than the previous. The final one in particular is scary because you just know the guy is not going to be stopped no matter what. And there's a real sense of terror as certain characters become hosts for the alien. And I don't think I've seen a film that better captures Hollywood's sleazy non-film industry underbelly.

Summary: A well kept secret
Review: This is a Hidden gem. Full of Action, cars, and flash. The plot sometimes falls weak but it's redemming grace is a brief cameo by Claudia Christian from Babylon 5. As a stripper who falls pray to the alien, she is a fierce and deadly opponent. The ending will leaving you scratching your head.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: fantastic and humorous (don't lick your lips)
Review: This is a super, fast-paced movie with great special effects (or actually, one great special effect) and some low (or sly) humor (alien burps, alien as stripper). Highly recommended, but the sequel is not of the same order. Buy this movie, rent the sequel if you really have to see it.

Summary: Must have watched it 20 times, just keeps getting better!
Review: This is not horror. It's Sci-Fi. I don't know why anyone would rate this as a horror film; it's so much better than any horror flick I've ever seen..

This movie is about aliens that come to earth; that's usually considered Sci-Fi in my book. And it's a little gory, but not much. It's actually very subtle, which is one of the things I admire most about it.

I've been watching this film for 15 years, and I never get tired of it. The sound on the DVD is not great; I can tell the original film was in mono.. when the stripper comes out and they go to the bar scene, I cranked up the sound one day when the family was out of the house; but there was no separation on the 5.1 and it just sounded like everything was coming out of the center speaker; very disappointing because the 1.85 picture is excellent!

But no matter; there is so much depth here, you can watch it many times and still see new nuance. The director comentary is really interesting because he talks about the lense and camera angles, the problems attempting to shoot some of the scenes and his general thought process. He talks about the ending, and how it was concieved, which this film excells. Most movies don't have the kind of meaningful, thought-provoking ending that this one does.

This movie kicks... on lots of higher budget films and proves that it does not take a huge budget to craft an excellent, entertaining thriller. Even if it is a B-movie.
