Summary: This movie or should I say preview [is bad]
Review: The movie isn't a movie. Its a preview. It's only 20 minutes long for ...that isn't even funny. Its a waste of money and time in your life.

Summary: Hardware Wars: The Cultural Phenomenon That Never Happened
Review: The year is 1978, one year after the box office juggernaut "Star Wars" was released, Ernie Fosselius releases the most successful short film of all time: "Hardware Wars". Those familiar with "A New Hope" will get a kick out of this one, being a blatant rip-off of the movie. Forget about expensive movie sets, state of the art special effects, and any other fancy movie stuff. We're treated to a gamut of household appliances as your vehicles, weapons, and even companions. How much better can it get than this? How about having a Wookie Monster to replace Chewbacca as a co-pilot to Ham Salad. One would have to be hard pressed not to chuckle at the speech impediment of Darph Nader (related to Ralph?) where the princess struggles to understand ANYTHING he says. Overall, one can't help to notice the cheesy voice-overs, bad acting, and cheap sets.....which makes it an instant classic. The concept itself is hilarious, so when watching it, don't take it so seriously and have fun. It's worth the ten dollars you'll kiss goodbye! Let me know what you think of the movie!

Summary: A great low budget film!
Review: This 15 minute film is hilarious. I thought it was like one of those old long commercial previews about Star Wars. I give this film more than 5 stars I give it 10. I think it's good!

Summary: Great
Review: This is great. A little short. I was not around for the original but hey the new one is great. I cracked up. It is such a silly film. The special effects suck and I think that, that is what makes it funny. "Tantalizing special effects". It is a crack up. It is hard to find so you might have to buy it online. It is a great film. I recommend it.

Summary: 5 Stars for campiness
Review: This is one of the ultimate spoof films. Even though the actual film is pretty short - it is filled with several "highbrow" jokes. The character take-offs are great as are the special effects.

The additional footage is so good - that it adds the the campiness of this film. This film is good for several laughs and it should be in any Star War fans collection.

Summary: Hilarious!!!!!!
Review: This movie is a very funny spoof on Star Wars. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes comedy and Star Wars. The characters are very funny, and if in Star Wars there is a very sad moment, Hardware Wars make it VERY, VERY funny!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The epitome of low-budget farce
Review: This new version is almost a satire of a satire. The enhanced special 3d effects serve to better mock the new release from Lucasfilm, but fail to be seamlessly integrated for a wonderful twist. At less than ten bucks it's an easy choice. May the farce be with you...

Summary: "Special Defects" Are Just That
Review: This parody of 1977's "Star Wars" is one of the funniest things you will ever see...especially if you are a Star Wars fan. If you aren't, be wary. This short is based on your knowledge of the original film. Without this knowledge, the short just comes across as stupid.

Finally, it should be noted that this film was altered by the addition of several computer-generated "special defects". Unfortunately, they look completely out of place in this film and ruin the atomosphere. Still, this is one of the best Star Wars parodies ever made, and you should really check it out.

Summary: Better than you think!
Review: This short is better than you might think. Fluke Starbuker, Ham Salad, and other funny characters fill the cast. C-3PO and R2-D2 are portrayed as the Tin Man and a vacume cleaner and Chewbacca is portrayed by a brown version of cookie monster. Only about 15 minutes long, but its filled with really funny bits. If you like "Star Wars", this is a must have for you!

Summary: pretty cool parody, dude
Review: This short Star Wars parody looks like it was a lot of fun to make. It has an amateurish exuberance that makes you want to go out and make a movie yourself. The guy doing the Luke Skywalker parody is especially goofy. Though the main idea is so good--household appliances filling in for the techno-wizard spaceships and stuff in Star Wars--that it is sometimes hard for the parody to out-do its premise. But most of the jokes are really funny, and the naive exuberance it exhibits all the way through contrasts with the sort of jaded, burnt-out professionalism of the latest installments from the actual, seemingly interminable Star Wars saga.

Some of the other features on the DVD are good, too. There is a funny antiques road show parody, and listening to Michael Wiese speak at Cannes gives an unusual insight into trying to break in in Hollywood. And the director's commentary parody is a welcome antitode to that peculiarly narcissistic genre.
