Summary: Some good laughs... Not a bad movie
Review: When i first saw the preview for "The Animal", i was wondering if the movie would have been better if it were rated PG and aimed for a younger audience. This movie did have the plot of a Disney film, and it would have probably been a hit for the 5-10 age range if not for the crude jokes.

In "The Animal", Marvin Mange, played by Rob Schneider, is a police file clerk who is aspiring to be a cop to fufil the dreams of his deceased father, but, as hard as he tries, can't pass the police physical exam (even after taking it 4 times). Marvin, to put it simply, is a big loser that gets no respect in life. This changes after he is terribly maimed in a near-fatal car crash and is rebuilt with animal parts by a mysterious doctor. After this incident, Mange discovers that he has superhuman abilites which he uses to fight crime, and he is finally accepted on the police force. The only problem is that there is a side-effect with his new-found powers; Mange must control his overwhelming animal urges (sex drive, hunger, and bodily functions, to name a few).

This movie wans't much on plot, but the crude humor and silliness of this film gives you a couple of good laughs and something to talk about for a while. "The Animal" isn't going into my Funny Movie Hall of Fame, but i enjoyed watching it.

Summary: Don't take this movie so seriously
Review: Yeah, this movie is kind of dumb, but that's what makes is so great. No, it's not going to be a masterpiece of the silver screen. C'mon, what were you expecting, it stars Rob Schneider. If you don't like slap-stick comedy, you will not enjoy this movie.

I thought this movie was hilarious. Just watch it for the sheer purpose of watching a funny, dumb movie. It's not serious. :c) RELAX!

Summary: AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL! ZERO STARS!
Review: If you didn't throughly understand my headline let me reiterate... THIS MOVIE IS AWFUL!
Propbably one of the worst movies I've ever seen! I didn't even laugh once! The jokes are dumb, and the comedic timing is so off its sad. AND THE ENDING IS SOOOOOOO STUPID! This is probably Rob Schneider's worst film by far. Painful to watch!

Summary: Show These Comedians Due Respect; Because It Is Funny!!
Review: Rob Schneider is "The Man with Animal Parts." That's it. Period. And what's wrong with that?

Rob's character Marvin got some surgery (without doctor's informed consent) to have enormous power of various kinds of animals. So, Marvin, previously known as a big loser, can act like a dog (see how he can catch a flying object); like a cat (vomiting a fur ball); and like a dolphin (well, see it for yourself). And he does lots of silly, silly things such as making love with a mailbox on the street (don't ask me why). It's a pity that I cannot convey the hilarious sensations of watching those funny turns of Rob Schneider, but if you know him, probably I don't have to, I guess. if you don't, remember this. "The Animal" is admittedly very stupid, and shows plenty of 'cheap' gags, and the film is co-executive-produced by Adam Sandler, so you know what you're gonna witness.

But, cheap as they are, the gags are done with certain kind of power, and Rob Schneider does his best to create the silliest situations possible, which are without doubt a joy to watch. And if you try to imagine the patience and efforts put into making those 'silly' things (like, swimming like a real dolphin), I must say I feel even respect to him. You know, it is not the most comfortable thing in the world to be dragged in not-so-clean water, strapped to some machine, and to act like a dolphin convincingly (and joyfully). Or, look at him when he feeds a baby bird with his mouth wide open. Yeah, it's an absolutely crazy gag, but I guess the bird must have picked his lips too so hard, instead of the food (whatever it is). It's easy for us to dismiss this kind of comedy as silly, but when you see it next time, keep these things in mind.

Anyway, the only criteria I can use here is, whether or not I laughed watching the film, and I did. And I found Colleen Haskell fairly good (oh, forget these Reality TV things). Of course, she is not Jodie or Meg, but this comedy shows that her career looks promising given a suitable material.

Summary: but a gun to my head and shoot
Review: its a comedy with a hot gunbarrell pointed to your head begging for a good shot, this is what it was like fot me, good awful and my head hurt. though the funniest part is when he slaps the goat on the ass and it kicks his back, but otherwise, ahhhhhhh, (click)...(gunshot)..no more please. horrible acting and Colleen Haskell(Survivor) is cute but doesnt cut the fact that theres no story to this one. bury me now.

Summary: Not the best Rob Schneider's comedy
Review: I have enjoyed his other movie, the Deuce Bigalow, but this one, the Animal, was slightly dissapointing to me. Especially one thing, the car accident, was too unrealistic. Some slapstick-type situations were very funny and in genereal I was laugihnig from time to time. I was really upset by the Regional Coding Enhancement protection on this dvd, because of which I could not watch it on my US-bought Apex 600 dvd and I had to use pc-dvd player. Shame on the distributoor! Is this a way to fight piracy? For me it is just a turn-off.

Summary: Torture
Review: When Marvin Mange is involved in a fatal car accident, he is brought back to life as half man half animal. With his newly formed animal features, we are expected to laugh at the gags that happen as a result. But all these gags do is attempt to make the viewer less intelligent. This film heavily relies on toilet humour and it's target audience seems to be aimed at younger kids. Are adults really expected to laugh at this low class humour? If we do, we should be ashamed of ourselves!
Utter tripe.

Summary: Discovery Channel on [screen]
Review: This is a light hearted movie great for a boring afternoon. It made for laugh over five times out loud so I guess I enjoyed it. I think Rob Sneider is hilarious, when emulating a dolphin, or cleaning himself like a cat, it's a major crack-up. And being a huge fan of "Survivor", it was great to see Colleen Haskell in a movie. She is actually a pretty good actress. "The Animal" will put you in a good mood, it's a funny movie with alot of laughs.
