Summary: Better than the original
Review: After seeing X-Men on DVD I was anxiuosly awaiting the sequel. I was not dissapointed. This sequel was much better than the original. Excellent cast featuring Hugh Jackman,Anna Paquin, Ian McKellen,Patrick Stuart and Halle Berry. The action scenes and storyline featuring mutants battling an anti-mutant movement lead by a General called Stryker is wonderfully scripted. Wolverine also confronts his past origins in this film which left us hanging in the previous X-Men film. Now I am anxiously awaiting X-Men 3!

Summary: A little better
Review: I hated the first movie and gave it one star. This movie got two stars because it had more action and the characters branch out a bit. It still has plenty of plot discrepancies and I'm pissed off that Sabretooth didn't make an appearance. They seemed to have given Lady Deathstrike, who was a human and not a mutant, all his powers along with his storyline.

If you want to see a good comic book movie, go rent Blade 1 or 2, Daredevil, the Hulk or Spawn.

Summary: Will please even non sci fi fans.
Review: This was an unusual sequel, it surpassed the original in many ways. Not that the original was in any ways bad, but it more rushed and didn't get a chance to spend time on a lot of the other characters.

Here they did what they obviously wished they had the time and budget for in the first movie.

More of the Mutants were showcased. Though it was still centered on Professor X and Wolverine, it brought a bunch the other characters into the side stage. To name a few; Iceman, Pyro, Kitty Pride, Collosus, Banshee, Nightcrawler, etc.... Plus they gave more screen time to the sultry butt kicker Mystique, whom was given a bit more depth.

The bad guys were again, interesting and possessed depth. Stryker the driven war vetran that is seemingly obsessed with controlling all mutants. The reasons why he was given the authority to do what he did and how it was carried out was frefreashing, and believable. Notice the president was more concerned about how it would look the to public than on any sort of personal morality. Magneto appeared again as the classic anti-hero, still focusing on his own agenda's.

The action sequences were longer and more brutal. Did you notice that the only person that you see die in the first one was the senator. True you see Toad get shocked and seem like he dies, but he is a mutant and a rather enjoyable bad guy, who knows. Sabretooth seemed to die, but in the comics he has survived many seemingly critical wounds, and survived. This includes having his spine broken, so he could very well show again. This movie wolverine has an actual body count and goes through special ops like they were children. What would you expect from a barely under control psychopath with unbreakable bones and claws.

All in all this was a great movie, still had some elements that were a bit hard to grasp, but it was a comic book movie and a sci fi, that is part of the game. It treats the characters and situations with dignity and makes you care about what is going on, for good and bad guys.

rent or buy this if you like sci fi or plain and simple action movies, you won't be disappointed.

Summary: IT'S TRASS!
Review: NOW I REALLY LIKE HUGH JACKMAN AND ALL BUT EVEN THIS WASN'T HIS BEST PERFORMANCE. NY PROBLEM IS THE COULD HAVE GONE ANY WHERE WITH THE SCRIPT BUT THEY DIDN'T. THEY ALSO TRIED TO BUT SO MANY NEW CHARACTERS IN THAT THEY DIDN'T FOCUS ENOUGH ON THE MAIN CHARACTERS. ALSO THE LEFT IT OPEN FOR A SEQUEL. I HATE THAT! THERE WERE TO MANY GOOD ACTORS IN THIS MOVIE THAT THEY WASTED. I THINK THAT IF THEY WOULD HAVE DONE IT ANOTHER WAY IT WOULD HAVE TURNED OUT GOOD. IF YOU ASK MY OPINOIN I WOULD SAY IT DOESN'T MATCH THE QUALITY OF THE FIRST ONE. I GUESS THE STUNTS AND CRAP WERE GOOD BUT I DON'T LOOK AT A MOVIE JUST SEEING IF JACKIE CHAN CAN FLIP A GUY WITH ONE PINKY. I DON'T CARE! IF YOU'RE LIKE ME AND CARE ABOUT A STORY THIS WILL BE A DISAPOINTMENT AND A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! DON'T CONSIDER IT FOR A MINUTE! IT'S TRASS!

Summary: Good if you like comic books
Review: A new war between humans and mutants begins after a attempted murder in the White House against the president of the United States. Now, all the mutants need to fight together against an enemy in common: General William Stryker, who is planning to destroy them all. He uses radical methods to get some information from Magneto, and plans an attack to Prof. Xavier's mutant school when there is only Wolverine and the young students. By not seeing the first one, I really had no idea what was going on. The CGI was nicely done but that was about it. I'm not a fan of Sci-fi

Summary: Improves on the first movie
Review: There's no question that bigger, bolder, better, faster applies to the X-Men sequel, with a whole array of new characters, more stunts, an obviously bigger budget and a returning cast. This time round the X-Men must club together to defeat mutant-hating Synger (Cox), who is attempting to trick Professor X (Stewart) into destroying all the world's mutants using his telepathic powers. Alongside Jackman's hulking Wolverine, there are some great new characters, most notably Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler. A seemingly bizarre casting choice, he works surprisingly well as a German teleporting mutant paired up with Halle Berry's Storm. Of the kids at the training academy, Iceman's powers are displayed with a light touch, along with his look-but-don't-touch relationship with Paquin's Rogue. Pyro doesn't really get much screentime but, without giving away too much plot, there's a distinct feeling there'll be more of him in X-Men 3.

The acting, as a whole, is good. In particular, James Marsden isn't nearly as irritating this time round, and actually gets a chance to act in the final scenes. Famke Janssen proves that she can be quite a presence, and McKellen gives it his all. But there's no doubt that this Jackman's movie, and he gives it his all to come across as the dark mysterious type. This fits in seamlessly with the references to his murky past and the fact that his mean streak is shown in full this time round.

As for the film itself, it's edge-of-your-seat stuff, so the exposition-packed first installment really pays off. The fight scenes are more impressive, particularly between Wolverine and his female equivalent, an energetic Kelly Hu. There are also plenty of exciting stunts and the scene where the military break into the academy is very well staged indeed. Even the obligatory 'human' element of the storyline is anything but cheesy, and mostly quite subtle. Witness Storm and Nightcrawler, Rogue and Iceman and, in particular, Wolverine and Jean Grey. Of course, all of this is nothing compared to the ending, which should ensure big box office openings when X-Men 3 is released.

Summary: It just gets better....
Review: Wow, the story to this sequel was much better than the first and it introduces us to very awesome character "Nightcrawler" who seems to only kick butt when he is in a different state of mind. If you don't know what I mean then you must watch the opening scene and if you haven't seen the opening scene, it's a must see for any action fan, one of the best action scenes, hands down. Characters get more development in this movie and the story makes you want to watch till the very end. Now I want more.

Summary: Almost Better than the First
Review: This movie was one of the rare sequels that actually proved to be almost better than the first. I think we all needed some new characters and Nightcrawler was great. Iceman and Rogue didn't have much action but they were great anyway.

The plot really is about Wolverine's past and the man who put the adamantium in his body. The movie has a great start with Nightcrawler's attack on the president. Mystique had been possing as Senetor Kelly (who we know is dead) was trying to stop the mutant registration act. She later frees Magneto from his plastic cell.

Meanwhile after Wolverine returns to the mansion Profeesor Xavier tells him he can no longer help him because of his memory loss. Charles also tells Jean and Storm to track Nightcrawler. Soon after they leave the mansion is attacked and Wolverine is the only adult to protect the kids. Most of them escaped though. Wolverine, Iceman, Rogue, and Pyro flee to Bobby's house but they are soon attacked by the police. Jean and Storm shortly come to pick them up but Xavier and Cyclops were captured by Srtyker. The X-men and Magneto join forces to fight Styker together.

I won't reveal anymore of the story because it is great. It is a must see and I highly recommend it.
