Summary: Unbelievable nonsense!!!
Review: A poor remake of the '60's sci-fi television series. Has absolutely nothing new to give!

Summary: Good Movie, but sound is definately not there
Review: When I first watched this movie I thought my receiver or speakers were acting strange because the lips of the actors didn't quite line up with the actual sound. After putting in several other DVD's to confirm this phenomenon I am convinced that the sound/video synch on this DVD is flawed.

Putting the sound through a regluar TV set seemed to minimize the problem, although it was still apparent. If you have a good quality sound system you'll find this effect almost unbearable.

Aside from the sound, the video is clean with a tremendous amount of special effects. The images seem to suffer the same problem as does the Star Trek - First Contact DVD, inasmuch as the video is SO detailed that it starts to look TOO artifical. The Laserdisc and VHS (obviously) produced a more relaxed slightly fuzzier picture that looked more realistic with the special effects.

Summary: Not just a sixties TV series rehash
Review: Those looking for a re-creation of the original Lost in Space will be largely disappointed. Many plot elements have been adopted from the first two episodes and the characters are recognizable to some degree, but this movie is a product of the 90s, not the 60s. William Hurt's daddy Robinson is (surprise!) emotionally detached, but still just as dedicated to his family. Mimi Rogers' mommy Robinson is less gushy than June Lockhart's version but is every bit as capable of standing her ground or handling a lazar. The charm of the piece is in Will Robinson and his robot and Penny Robinson (Deep Space Captain) and her diary. Good for families (w/ kids 12 & up). The ubiquitous Gary Oldman's Dr. Smith is the calculating monster of the earliest TV episodes and then some, and finds appropriate moments to relive Zachary's most famous lines. The environmental wipeout premise is hokey and trite, as are some of the characterizations, but the film also delivers in some surprising ways. Enjoyable, but too scary for small children.

Summary: A fantastic sci-fi adventure
Review: Expectations were low for this sci-fi adventure based on the 1960's tv show. But this big screen version is very loyal to the original tv pilot. I thought it was an excellent movie!!

Summary: Great Film... shame about the dubbing...
Review: I loved this film, but on DVD they seem to have messed up the sound track. Lips move, but speech follows a fraction of a second later, just enough to create a very odd experience. Give it a miss.

Summary: movie got lost in space, but great special effects
Review: Movie was great until it got to weird with the time warp thing. Characters were weak except for Will. The special effects were very good. Overall I have to give the movie a 3 because, although I liked it at first, I came away with an empty feeling towards the end.

Summary: A movie for the Family
Review: Well, this movie has a lot of great effects. Good story line. I really enjoyed the movie in the beginning, but as the movie progressed, I didn't really like how it ended. Like they didn't find there destination in the movie and all that ideas of making a star gate all wasn't really needed to be in detail described in the beginning of the movie then, I felt then a small missing link in the movie, but overall, the movie was fun and has awsome space scenes and action scenes. I would recommend this movie to anyone looking for a great family movie about caring. END

Summary: Problems running other parts of DVD
Review: The movie rocks! But my Laptop (Gateway 9100XL) could not view any part of the DVD other that the movie. Everything else was choppy. Please let me know if you had the same problem.

Summary: Totally Great
Review: This movie has totally amazing special effects, a good story, and could very well be the start in a long string of Lost in Space movies. If you liked the old series you will love the movie, If you were too young to watch the old series you will love the movie. The Cast is great and has a character appealable to either sex. Great movie Two Thumbs Up! END

Summary: very enjoyable
Review: since hollywood insists on remaking my childhood favorites im glad that i got lucky and somebody helped make this one pretty good. a lot of remakes trash the original idea and thus suck big time! this newer lost in space isn't bad at all. it is definitely something that you can watch with your kids. it's an update sure, but your kids will probably love this and it's true to the spirit of the old show. it's a kid's adventure through space with the robinsons. gotta love it!
