Summary: Disappointing
Review: "Robotrix" ("Nu ji xie ren") stars Chikako Aoyama as Linda, a murdered cop who is brought back to life as an android warrior, EVE R27. This is so she can fight an evil scientist, who becomes a robot to stalk prostitutes on the streets of Hong Kong; the evil scientist, Ryuichi Sakamoto is played by Chung Lam, but his robot is played by Billy Chow. Now, obviously this 1991 Hong Kong film directed by Jamie Luk is inspired in part by "Robocop," but in addition to throwing some science-fiction and Jack the Ripper elements into the Hong Kong action, there are also some edgy soft-core sex scenes involving Linda and her boyfriend. So what we have here is a most unusual mix of elements, because while the rest of this film goes off in the direction of big time action with a huge twist of camp, the sex scenes seem like they were spliced in from a different movie (the Taiwanese version apparently has a comic scene set in a police station that is not in the print, so maybe this idea is not too far fetched). More fun than you would have thought to be sure. On the DVD edition this film letterboxed, and the dialogue is in Cantonese and Mandarin with English subtitles. However, the VHS edition, also letterboxed, is dubbed into English. Your choice. Choose wisely.

Summary: Robotrix - VHS (1991)
Review: -Add an extra star to this review if you are a fan of dark, neon-lit atmospheres and well-endowed Asian women in a movie where plot is secondary to action and nude frolicking -

"Robotrix" has a fairly high production value considering its category III rating (equivalent to our NC-17). The sets look very slick and remind me of a modern day "Sex & Zen" with its excessive mood lighting and bright colors. But we're not watching this movie for the sets, now are we?

The sole purpose of this movie is to highlight the triumvirate of stunningly beautiful and excessively chesty actresses fronted by the infamous Amy Yip.

If you have ever wondered what "Robocop" would have been like if it had been a beautiful woman being spliced together with hard metal, and if they had added large amounts of action, nudity, and soft-core sex to the story, then check this one out!

Summary: Amy Yip, Chikako Aoyama!...(*wow*!)
Review: A guilty pleasure film (the pleasure being Amy Yip, and Chikako Aoyama)...

The story does its job, and I have no complaints in that section(although the violence may be a bit too extreme for some)....

All in all, if you like Hong Kong pics, Asian culture (or something different), this is for you.

Summary: Hong Kong T & A
Review: As with American T&A films, the Hong Kong versions toss out the plot for a little action and some flesh. Basic summery, rich oil guy wants to build robots, enter robat action scene. Humans killed, Robots crushed. Oil Guys son is kidnapped by crazy lady who wants the oil guy to pay for her to make robots. She kills herself and transfers her soul to a male robot who has hait like Billy Idol. Billy Idol Robot starts killing hookers. Amy Yip is hot and sexy as a undercover hooker for the police. Come to find out about 2/3 of the way through that she is also a robot.

Hope I have not left out anything. The copy that I saw had not subtitles and my Cantonese is not the best.

I gave this 5 stars based solely on its cost to entertainment value. At under $20, you cannot go wrong. I have watched my copy many many times. Good Silly T & A fun, plus Amy Yip is HOTNESS!

Review: Good film! Better than most American Sci-Fi films! I recommend 'Naked Killer' before this movie, though! It's good, but not as good as 'Naked Killer'.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: I picked this one up because I'm a fan of the Asian "breasts-and-bullets" genre, but I found this one to be a serious letdown. There's very little action- just a few decent martial arts fights, and one poorly done car chase. And there is, of course, the requisite nudity, but most of it is unpleasant (we get several scenes of the robotic villain raping women, often before gruesomely murdering them) and gratuitious (the sex scenes, including the rapes, are unnecessarily drawn out and not the least bit sexy). The majority of the movie's running time is filled with insipid and awkward attempts at plot and characer development, all of which fall flat.
The viewing experience is further hampered by the bizarre practice, inherent in many entries of the Asian exploitation genre, to mix repellant sex and violence with "cute" slapstick-y comic relief that would be at home in a children's movie. Perhaps this is simply a cultural thing that we Westerners just don't get, but this combined with the boring content previously mentioned makes for one of the weakest entries in this genre that I have ever seen.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: I went into this movie expecting to see gorgeous naked Asian women, and for the most part that's what I got. However, I feel it is worth mentioning that the phenomenally gorgeous Amy Yip, while appearing nude, does not actually show anything. She is always conveniently covered. I understand that she is somewhat well known for this (called "Yip Tease"), so if you want to see her naked, you will have to look somewhere else. Of course, there are several other gorgeous women who are not so demure, so if that's what you're looking for and don't care whether it's Yip or not, I recommend this video.

Review: If you enjoy the aforementioned, you will enjoy this film.I was impressed by the budget and acting. The humor was well done also.
Yes,the actresses are pretty-but scenery can't make a good film. So,in essence-robots are created, one renegade developer transfers his essence into a cyborg. The other developers fear you cannot control the human spirit-but must transfer the heroines soul into a robotic recreation of herself to counter the villain. There is nudity, but it makes sense.
A good story,good acting,solid budget.Worth the price.
