Summary: Can't top the original
Review: Robocop 2 is a watchable and entertaining movie for those who saw the first. But it lacks freshness and some parts are just disgustingly violent.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Bad sequel
Review: Why is it that all the good movies end up with the worst sequels? The plot line is one of the baddest in movie history with the only redeeming quality being the over the top violence.

Summary: What An Amazing Travesty
Review: Only a comic book writer could write such a terrible script. This movie has nothing to do with the wonderful original. Kershner and Miller seemed to think that people would be impressed if they just filled the time with blood, gore, and explosions. This horrible film is on my distinguished top 10 worst movies ever made list.

Summary: Good for people who know Frank Miller
Review: As a sequel it is not that bad a film true it is very violent but it has an underlying message in it as well. Frank Miller is the man who wrote the two sequels. Now if you are a comic book fan as i am you have most likely herd of him. He has written some of the best comic book stories to date such as The Dark Night Returns(a batman story), Sin City and 300. Now these books are so well written they even tought in colledge english classes. What frank Miller does is take our current society and twist it into his stories which he has done in Robocop 2. It has the idea that drugs are everywere and that the war agenst them is a loosing battle. So for critics to look down on this film for being too violent, they really need to take a look outside and look at the world. But for the sake of Robocop it was a good movie it was better than #3 and is over all a fun movie and with DVD this film is given justice.

Summary: DATED, BUT STILL COOL
Review: The effects do seem a but ropey in places but this movie is still good by todays standards. People are always too harsh on Robocop 2 because it is so violent in places but much more violent films are made today. I'm glad a lot of people are finally judging this fairly. The movie deserved a helluva lot more on DVD. Listen to the music as you watch the film. It rocks.

Summary: Robocop meets Robocop II
Review: Robocop is out to stop a drug-baron who, after being killed, returns to haunt the former as Robocop Mark 2, courtesy of a ruthless city administration milking every penny they can as the working-class of the city go under.

Though this is indeed a mean-spirited film, it is not intended as escapism fantasy but more of a look into the future of a crumbling society. The scenes in which Robocop still harbours loss at the fact he'll nver be able to rejoin his family are very effective and the OCP chairman is revealed as the cold, self-serving individual he was formerly hinted as being.

The only problems are that there is already enough blood and gore in real life to satisfy the ghouls who delight in such things. And the film suffers from far too much padding later on. Not a terrible film, as it has some good moments, but you can't help feeling it could have been a lot better and compared to the first film it's just movie junkfood.

Summary: Different than the first
Review: This one does not look like a grownup superhero atmospere film, instead it looks like a teenage superhero film. This one does not share anything in common with the first & niether do the characters, but the suit Peter Weller wears in this does.

Summary: 'EMPIRE STRIKES BACK' DIRECTOR HAS SUNK SO LOW!!
Review: Is it just a coincidence that Irvin Kershner, exactly ten years after he directed "The Empire Strikes Back", (Probably the greatest sci-fi sequel ever.), directed "Robocop 2", (Probably the worst sci-fi sequel ever.) I would give this movie zero stars, but this site will not allow me to a rate a movie that low. In short, this is one uncomfortably bad movie!

Summary: No matter what these narrow-minded critics think....
Review: ... this movie is still great. RoboCop 2 has been taken way too seriously by some critics who render it a bad movie just because it is very violent. I totally agree with Shawn, this movie was made to be entertaining, which it does extremely well. The action scenes are superbly done, and some of them are flat-out amazing. Even by today's standarts, I still like this movie's effects and style. It is one of my favorite action movies ever.

Summary: GOOD MOVIE, POOR DVD
Review: I love Robocop. Well the first 2 anyway. This one maintains most of the originals cynical humor but is a LOT more violent. I reckon that this is why many don't like it. The DVD offers us nothing but the movie. No trailer or anything. Which is a shame seeing how it had the best trailer of the 90'S. Don't be put off by bad word of mouth. This is a hilarious and inventive movie.
