Summary: The most intense movie of all time.
Review: This and the Terminator movies are James Cameron's true masterpieces --- not that silly Titanic movie. Aliens is the most gut-renchingly intense movie I've ever seen by far (second only to Terminator 2, also directed by James Cameron). It offers it all: Incredible action, believable characters, excellent direction and sound, good acting, and it's actually quite frightening, too. Totally blows the other Alien movies away.

Summary: Let's Rock!!
Review: First time I saw the entire film was back in high school, when the film society somehow got their grubby mits on this movie. We were all blown away. I was pissed when they only released the director's cut on Laser Disc. Fortunately, we had a hi-fi fan at college who had the latest everything. It was cool seeing the restored footage again. However, the LD also had Cameron's comments, which were pretty important. As with the extra footage cut out of Terminator 2, Cameron had really good reasons to cut the extra bits out of the movie. Won't spoil the extra footage for those unfortunate enough to have missed seeing them, since this was mentioned in a previous comment here, but the tense scene with the automated sentries was cut because Cameron did not want to make the movie just about a war of attrition. Of course, the special edition should have been released earlier, but that goes without saying.

Summary: It is about TIME!
Review: This is the reason why I bought a DVD player. There are few films that make the purchase worth it and Aliens is one of them. It is about TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Aliens on DVD... It's about time!!!
Review: I don't think I have to try to sell this movie to anyone. It's just incredible. It's James Cameron's best flick, far better than Titanic and it's finally going to be available on DVD. Now if we could just get Apocalypse Now and Excalibur on DVD, I would be a very happy guy. Get Aliens on DVD right away!

Summary: Awesome movie!
Review: This film outclasses its predecessor in all categories. Never in my life have I seen such a fast-paced and maddening action as in Aliens. But this movie has a lot more to offer than just action. First of all the characters: these are not cardboards for which you don't care whether they survive or not. I actually felt quite sad anytime any of the soldiers died. Then there is Ripley: together with Newt, they put this film into an emotional experience never encountered in movies of this type before. Although I have not seen Aliens on a big screen, I can imagine how horrifying and intense experience this must have been. Just the music and sound make my skin crawl... I don't think anybody can dispute the fact that the movie is technically perfect and the two Oscars well deserved. The special effects still look great in comparison with new movies. Acting; well, rarely you see acting so good in a movie like this. Michael Biehn is even better than in The Terminator and Signourey Weaver is probably the best possible actress that could be cast in the role of Ripley. I can't wait for the Special Edition to be released. From what I've heard the additional footage makes the already brilliant storyline even better.

Summary: Aliens Special Edition??
Review: Can it possibly be true? Is Fox really re-releasing Aliens SE on VHS and DVD? This will be a dream come true for Aliens fans worldwide. Aliens is without a doubt the best scifi/action movie of all time, and with the cutscenes added back in, it gets even better!

Summary: You can't stop this one, you can only hope to contain it!!
Review: This looks to be the definitive DVD title. If there was a reason to buy a DVD player this is it. The cut scenes, menu options, trailers, interviews; I am ready to get IT ON!!!

Summary: RIPLEY RETURNS TO KICK SOME SERIOUS ALIEN BUTT!!!!!!!
Review: After 57 years, Ripley is rescued by a deep salvage team. Once back on Earth, she finds out her scaly, slimy host needing friends' planet has been enhabited by humans. It isn't long before Ripley finds out contact with the planet has been lost. So, she heads off, once again to fight the alien scum!!!! Such notable reprising scenes from the first show an alien ripping through the chest of a colonist, and many others. This is my second favorite Alien movie!!!! CHECK IT OUT!!!!!

Summary: This movie ROCKS!!!
Review: One of the rare examples of a sequel being better than the original. This was one of James Cameron's early opportunities to prove that he is a brilliant filmmaker. This movie is as suspensful as it gets. Though the special effects were incredible by 1986 standards, the real feat of Aliens is that the human characters are believable and full of humanity (well most of them.) The scenes cut for theatrical release are not just dead time. Seeing the theatrical cut of Aliens after seeing the uncut 156 min version made me see the holes in it and just leaves me unsatisfied. I am thrilled that the "real" version will be released on DVD.
