Summary: Great Disney (kid's video)
Review: ...this should not be rated PG13. He's right about the nudity, if that's what you call a 3-second shot from the waist up or the shadow of a butt. No sexuality, though. My rating: PG for mild language, mild violence and mild crude humor. I won't say anything about the video, because the other reviews say it all. It's great. Buy it.

Summary: An enjoyable quicky,
Review: A little bit tired yet watchable. Jeff Daniels and Christopher Lloyds are a stitch! A fun little movie with a witty script and excellent special effects. The aliens and monsters look SO cool! The DVD for the film is nice, two. A sharp transfer with solid blacks and glossy colors. For extras we get an excellent 25-minute making of featurette, a trailer, and a alternate french language track. A very fun, if rather rushed film. Great for kids.

Summary: A great kid's film!
Review: As a child I was a huge fan of the original My Favorite Martian television series. As such, it was with great apprehension that I responded to news of a Disney spin on this classic show. Disney has ruined many a classic tale with their twin tactics of homogenization and sterilization. Mercifully, My Favorite Martian has come through almost completely unscathed.

Christopher Lloyd does an outstanding job with the role of Uncle Martin. He's at once strange and endearing, outlandish yet believable. Jeff Daniels' take on Tim O'Hara was, vis-à-vis Bill Bixby's characterization, more bumbling than hapless, but this is no flaw of the film, only a contrast against the original series.

The movie is full of wonderful one-shot lines, clever humor. The special effects are used judiciously and to good end; this is definitely not an "f/x film." And of course, as a fan of the original series, I was deeply gratified to see Ray Walston share the screen.

The only particular flaws in this production were the disposable character of Zoot - Uncle Martin's talking, sentient spacesuit - and the infrequent indulgence into base humor (e.g., one toilet joke, some crass behavior), which stood in stark contrast to the otherwise clever dialogue.

These complaints are rather minor, however. And in my house, at least, I was in the minority regarding Zoot. My 4-year-old loved him.

I can easily recommend this movie to anyone: families, sci-fi or comedy fans, even to that hardest sell - fans of the original 60s TV show.

Summary: Best Disney Movie Ever
Review: I agree it should be PG-13, but it is better than all other Disney Movies combined.

Summary: Disney wrost movie.
Review: I don't have to see the movie. I know this is a bad movie.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Why do y'all think this is bad?
Review: I don't understand why everybody thinks that this is a bad movie. I thought it was very entertaining and especially the performance of Christopher Lloyd was outstanding. In this movie he is at his best! When I saw this movie, I didn't want to miss a thing of it and the only time I was disapointed was when it ended. This is just a fun movie for the whole family with some good Special FX and DON'T COMPARE IT WITH THE TELEVISION SERIES!

Summary: So enjoyable!
Review: I loved this movie so much I watched it over and over again... Then I realized why I love it even more than my children do. First of all, the casting was perfect: Christopher Lloyd so witty and friendly, Liz Hurley stunningly beautiful and incredibly funny, and Darryl Hannah - definitely the loveliest girl on earth... Also, the special effects were smart, well designed and hilarious. But what's really captured me was these inoffensively sarcastic lines that made me laugh so hard. To quote a few: (Uncle Martin to Brace Channing, when the antennas popped up his head): "Quaint, aren't they? These days most of our young are born cable-ready". (Uncle Martin to Tim O'Hara): "I did a molecular identiclone of your body. You'd never understand. You people think Email is amazing". (Uncle Martin to himself, after cloning Brace Channing): "Boy, her head was dark and empty". (Suit, jumping out of spaceship): "A giant leap for men, a step backward for Martians"... To sum it up, this is so far the best Disney movie to me. Watch it with your family and laugh your butt off.
