Summary: Feel beautiful and graceful while gaining strength!!
Review: I just purchased this DVD and did the complete workout for the first time. I absolutely love it. I really feel the muscles working. Even though the video is for beginners, it is not so easy that it leaves you nothing to work toward. I look forward to getting in shape using this video and then moving on to other DVDs put out by Veena and Neena.

Summary: Very good exercise with some bellydance movement
Review: I just started to exercise with this video, and I believe I will be able to make some bellydance dance in just few weeks. The video is very good for beginners.

Summary: it's good , but it was not what i expected
Review: i like it , but it's short and i expect more moves. for a workout it's good , but to learn bellydancing at least a little it no so good. so that's my opinion about this dvd , it's no bad , but it's not super good.

sorry about my english , that's no very good either

Summary: Great workout!
Review: I love how the workout targets each body problem area while teaching poise, I have had this tape for a year and do it at least 3 times a week. I recommend a coin hip scarf it helps you with the hip moves (and makes you feel more like a dancer). The only negative comment has nothing to do with the content but more of the menu, I like a workout dvd that will allow you to by pass all the intro talk and dance part and allow you to get to the actual instructional part without having to fast forward. (Kathi Smiths flex appeal is terrific and with a great menu as well)

Summary: Read The Title, Please!
Review: I own the one of the twins' other DVD's--Basic Moves and Fat Burning. (See the review if you are interested). I would have to say that their style has changed a little bit on this video...they are much more relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera than they were on the other one.

To all those "bellydancers" out there who state that this is not a teaching tape...it says that right on the front. For fitness! Not instruction! If you want to learn to Middle Eastern Dance (because that is what the dance is called, not bellydance) then please check out a class in your local area. I take mine through Parks and Rec.

Within a few minutes of starting the arms section of this tape I felt as though my arms were on fire. I know I will most definately feel this tomorrow. It's a good workout, and shows you some common postures you will use if you decide to study the dance.

The abs section wasn't as good as I had expected it to be. I had a real problem with the exercise where they ask you to support your body on your arms and twist your hips. It might take me awhile before I can do that one. There are crunches and variations on crunches, as well as some yoga postures to help you stretch out in the cool down.

As for the second workout in the video, I had seen many of the movements in the Basic Moves DVD I mentioned that I already own. The hip shimmies, drops and lifts are wonderful ways to work your hips. There is a move that is a variation on a hip shimmy that I think will be a lot of fun to do and work more muscles than a traditional shimmy will...you are on your toes and stepping while shimmying.

You'll see some exercises that you should be familiar with, such as lunges. There's a reason for that: this is a workout video.

Again, the thing to remember is that this is not going to teach you to dance...it takes moves that are used in MED and incorporates them into an aerobic workout. Please keep that in mind when viewing/using this DVD.

I think so far this is the best of their series that I have used. I will continue to use this DVD as another way to exercise, and supplement what I have learned in class (to a certain extent).

Summary: Ridiculous!
Review: I own this workout on DVD and it is completely ridiculous. It serves as a means for humor rather than one of fitness. It looks as if it was done on a very small budget as well. I do not recommend this to anyone, unless you are just looking for a good laugh.

Summary: Excellent and fun way to exercise
Review: I picked up this DVD on the advice of a friend as I was looking for a new and different exercise routine. This is so much fun! I went out and bought Neena and Veena's other titles too. Neena and Veena are twins who have been studying bellydancing for most of their life. I like the way they put these routines together. The only negative (if you can call it that) is that if you have never bellydanced before, you may have to watch the DVD once or twice in order to get the movements down. But on the positive, Neena and Veena wear exercise tights and bra with just a hip scarf (not fully belly dancing garb), so you can really see the movements (most of which come from the thighs and knees, so this is important.)

If you are looking for a workout that is fun and different, try this. You might enjoy it!

Summary: Buns are for elephants
Review: I was going to buy this but the use of the word buns convinced me not to. If the authors cannot describe their anatomy correctly whats the point in reading the book

Summary: A really fun workout!
Review: I've been working out for about 6 months now and lost a total of 35 lbs through diet and exercise. I've tried many different workouts - Richard Simmons, Tae Bo, Mari Winsor Pilates - and this is one of the funnest workouts yet! For a beginner this would be a great video to try because it's fun and goes by quick. I've found that videos like Tae Bo, while great, get boring after a while. This is a great way to mix it up a little bit! I have been using this and The Method Afro-Brazilian dance and really enjoy it! The voice over doesn't bother me - I can see how it might be difficult to talk while doing these moves. Neena and Veena's wonderful physiques make me want to do even better - and now I've developed an interest in Bellydance! Don't worry if you're more heavy set - it's still fun and no one's going to be watching! And - the only way to get those beautiful belly dancing bodies is to exercise - you gotta start somewhere! Try this video!
