Summary: Well, it was instructional
Review: I borrowed this DVD from a friend who didn't like it because she found the host annoying. The host indeed, was annoying. However, it is a good beginner workout and I will return it to its rightful owner with new knowledge of yoga moves that I can do on my own without Baron Baptiste's cries such as, "Power, People!" and "Unleash the monster within!"

Summary: Yoga for Everyone- Good for Body and Spirit
Review: I bought this yoga video because it didn't look all new-agey and I got an even better surprise when I did the work out. It was awesome! Baron is a great motivator and makes yoga easy,
even for an uncoordinated guy like me. I've always thought yoga was hard but this video has changed my mind. Now I look forward to the workouts. Glad he has level 2 & 3 out already as well. Check them out!

Summary: had my doubts at first, but this is awesome!!
Review: I have been disappointed in the past with yoga DVD's. This one is really good. I have been doing the crunch yoga for a while and wanted a change. I seem to sweat with this one. The moves are not complicated for beginners. At first, I thought it was going to be boring because Baron is a little monotone. He does simple moves but over and over. I recommend it.

Summary: could be better
Review: I have heard nothing but good things about Baron Baptiste, so I decided to buy this DVD. I was very disappointed in him. He is so annoying thoughout this entire DVD. The poses and direction is good (it is basic) but his method of speaking is pretty irritating...not relaxing. I would recommend this DVD if you can get it at a low, used price. It's not terrible....but I expected more.

Summary: Campy, but a great workout
Review: Ok, ok, the music and Baron can be a little campy. However, this is one of the most complete beginner workouts you can find. If you are a real beginner (no yoga experience) then I recommend Brian Kests 20 minute and step-by-step DVD. You will sweat with this and crunch your abs! If you can get past the music and Baron's funny lines this video is one of the best!

Summary: Something just not right about this video
Review: Whilst I believe that Mr. Baptiste has training in yoga instruction, I don't trust his methods. The minute I heard him say that "this move will hurt a little" I was certain that this was not the tape for me. Yoga should never hurt! You may feel a little pull, but not pain. A yoga instructor that warns you that something will hurt is only slightly better than one who doesn't warn you, but expects you to try something painful. Try Rodney Yee or MTV Power Yoga. They give alternative movements and never purposefully ask you to attempt a painful move. Don't buy this tape.
