Summary: If you cheered Jordan's "Last shot" you will love this DVD
Review: "Jordan to the Max" is a straightforward DVD with minimal extras which chronicles Jordan's "last dance" all the way to its improbable, fairytale finish (the "Last Shot"?). Not as breathtaking as when viewed on an IMAX screen, it still remains an entertaining lovefest for the greatest player ever.

This is not a comprehensive look at all things Jordan. You will not find a balanced journalistic view of the man behind the #23. For a more complete view, I recommend "the Ultimate Jordan" DVD.
But if you cheered Jordan's last shot, you will most likely enjoy this incomplete but fitting tribute.

Summary: Very good while we're waiting...
Review: ...for the super-ultra-deluxe Michael Jordan DVD Boxset. I couldn't watch this on IMAX because there aren't those kind of screens where i live, so i've been waiting for this release for a long time. I have to say that i was surprised, i didn't expect it to be as good as it is, specially in the technical issue : the 5.1 mix is VERY GOOD, and it has a great image quality...but as all IMAX movies, is too short. 45 minutes of MJ is just not enough for his fans. You'll see a short review of the Bulls last playoffs run mixed with some highlight from his career. You won't learn anything new about his life or his career, but if you're his fan you'll really enjoy watching once again those incredible things he used to do. The 21 min. "Behind the scenes" doesn't add much and neither does the 2 min. "Bullet Time" featurette.

As i said before, as a big basketball fan you'll enjoy this DVD, but thinking about the possibilities of the DVD format, the next time i won't expect less than a big boxset with as much MJ as it can fit in there.

Summary: Must buy for Jordan fans!
Review: Along with the "Ultimate Jordan" DVD, this is a must buy for all Jordan fans. While the Ultimate Jordan set has all of his earlier hits; Come Fly With Me, Above and Beyond, etc., this DVD packs in the accolades of his final year as a Chicago Bull. There are more interviews and more candid insights with Jordan compared with his earlier videos. The sound and video quality are top notch as well.

Summary: The legend will live on...
Review: Although this film is "outdated" (Michael Jordan returned to the NBA for the 2002/2003 season), it shows the high points in his life. It's one in-depth biography and it captured the drama of Michael in the NBA Finals. Lawrence Fishburne plays the narrator. If your a true fan of MJ, buy it.

Summary: If you like the Bulls and Michael Jordan...
Review: Being a Chicago native and a Bulls fan (not to mention an MJ fan), I especially enjoy this video time after time. It features Michael's career and his philosophy about life and winning, intermingled with a recap of the Bulls 6th championship run. Lawrence Fishburne's narration fits well, and the theme music from Fatboy Slim's "You've Come a Long Way Baby" album complements both the energy and hipness that MJ himself projects. If you have surround sound, it won't be wasted on this video, as with any IMAX I've seen. The crowd sounds, the Alan Parsons theme at the UC, the FBS tracks and the subtle audio effects all add to the feel of the flick and remind me again and again how much I love home entertainment technology. My wife just hates the opening seen where I turn up the subwoofer as the sound of MJ dribbling the ball in a pin-drop quiet stadium shakes half the house. In short, this is a must-have video to bring out when your sports fan pals are over.

Summary: Great film, even on the small screen!
Review: Even though this film was originally developed for IMAX, it was still excellent on my TV(32 inches). It has been my experience that many times IMAX films don't translate very well to the small-screen, but this one is great. Of course, the audio and video quality is superb.

This film is not a biopic of Jordan, as few things about his life outside of sports are discussed. What this film really does well is portray Jordan as the great athlete that he is. After watching this film, I have no doubt that Jordan was the greatest athlete of the 20th century. His devotion to the sport and his desire to be a good role-model also are expressed well in the film. If you like documentaries, you must add this film to your collection.

Summary: Widescreen TV a must!
Review: Excuse my poor english, but I'm a french fan of Michael Jordan and I would like to advise the future french customers about this dvd. First of all, the movie is great and tells the carreer of that astonishing athlete, probably one of the greats sportsmen ever seen. But the good new is that this dvd has a 5.1 dolby audio track in french, so I readed it easyly on my multizone dvd player. French fans of M.J., don't hesitate! This dvd is really the must!!!

Summary: Average IMAX Film...
Review: For big time Jordan fans, this film provides nothing we haven't seen before. Yes there are some nice special effects (a la Matrix) seen, but those effects were "special" because they were seen on an IMAX screen. I highly doubt many of you an 80 foot screen to accomodate such an experience.

The clips and highlights are things we've seen before. If any of you have seen his many NBA highlight tapes, this movie will not provide anything different enough to warrant a purchase. Also, for a documentary there is not enough insight from his teammates, once again providing nothing new for the Jordan fans. There is a small featurette detailing the special effects from this IMAX film but once again, it's not enough to warrant a purchase.

Whether you're a diehard Jordan fan or not, get the NBA videos if you want a more comprehensive look at his career.
