Review: I liked the following features.1. an excellent universal remote with soft touch keys in a logical layout. This contasts sharply with the Toshiba M675 which has a remote with fewer options and very stiff keys.2. three recording speeds -- many new vcrs have only SP and SLP -- this one also has LP, which is good for recording movies.3. good recording quality at all speeds -- I tried a Toshiba M675 which records beautifully in SP, but poorly in SLP.4. has a one minute fast forward key on the remote, which is good for skipping commercials. 5. one touch record requires only one key6. on screen display is big, bold and informative.7. counter reset is easy and expedites returning to your starting point with another one touch key command.On the negative side.1. The mechanism is somewhat noisy (though most newer machines share this fault.)2. Rewind is slower and noisier than a Toshiba M675, for example.3. High speed record/playback may have been a smidgen inferior to the Toshiba M675 (but I could not make a side by side comparison.)Over-all I found this was a well thought out product and an excellent value.
