Summary: GREAT UNIT, GREAT PRICE!
Review: After deciding to purchase this unit to take on vacation with the kids, I was amazed at how well it performed. My son brought his PlayStation along and was amazed at how well his system worked on this TV. The front A/V jacks are a real help if you have 8mm camcorder film that you need to transfer to a VHS tape. Another plus with this unit is its great reception of channels. It picked up stations far outside our viewing area at home with amazing clarity. All of this was with the standard antenna! The unit is perfect for long road trips and plays tapes great! Also, the features regarding timer recording are terrific, in fact, it acts as my favorite VCR. It also has special features that allow for sharper playback on rented or other older, well used tapes. The only negative I have is that every time it's disconnected from a power source, like all new TVs, you must reprogram the channels and language settings. This can be annoying, but other than that, this is a must have for a person with extra money to spend!

Summary: Great little TV, but not for those suffering car sickness
Review: After deciding to take a 6 hour car trip with two children (one four years old and the other 18 months) we purchased this unit for use in our minivan. Finding a spot for it in our Honda Odyssey was tricky. It did not fit neatly between the two front seats like we had hoped. We had to tie it down with ropes and bungy cords to one of the folded down middle seats. Once mounted, however, it worked nicely. The picture was clear and it magically kept the baby content for much longer periods of time than usual. The kids were so mesmerized by the videos we had on that they missed new and interesting scenery during our trip, though.

HOWEVER, on the return trip our four year old started complaining of nausea and we realized the TV was making him car sick. Overall, a great purchase if the viewers don't suffer from car sickness and you are willing to give up some space to mount it safely.

Summary: Perfect Picture
Review: Great little unit. Functions flawlessly and is about the best priced for a tv/vcr combo and has a durable remote control. Purchased it for use while camping and traveling. Kids love it and use it to view tapes all of the time. If you need a backup tv that can run AC/DC, you won't go wrong in purchasing this one. We've had ours for about 2 months and have not had any problems. It gets use daily by some very young kids. Remote still works!

Summary: Great for long trips!
Review: If you have kids, this is a must for those long car rides. Since getting the tv/vcr combo, I haven't heard "are we there yet?" Great product at a reasonable price. Worth every penny!

Summary: Disappointing
Review: We purchased our set at Sam's Club and have exchanged it three times because of a problem with the remote. Even though the TV otherwise works fine, has a good picture, etc. the remote control stops working unpredictably. (The light on the remote goes on and has power but it just doesn't affect the TV, change channels, volume, etc.) We've changed new batteries many times, tried new remotes and talked with Sam's Club and a local Sylvania dealer. No one has an answer or can fix it. When we exchanged the set for another one, and another one, we had the same problem. Too bad since it's basically a good set, but when you buy a remote you expect it to work.
