Summary: No that's not a storm brewing...its the JVC MX-G50!
Review: Can you say bass? This thing comes loaded with 240 watts of power. It has lots of features. The sound is crystal clear and the bass is earthshaking.I was at [local store] and I saw this thing and i went crazy over it. It looks so cool!I tried a CD the store had previously put in the stereo. Then I cranked it up to about 23 and i had the whole store shakin'!People were lookin from the next store to see what it was. They felt them subs. It has 2 Twin Bi-amped Hyper Power-Drive Subwoofers.(its either Hyper Power Drive or G-Max)So i bought it. I still enjoy this thing. I've even added a few things to it. I have connected a pair of JVC Giga Tube MX-GT90 speakers So now I have about 400+ watts of Subwoofer output and the sound is still crystal clear! .So i have my MX-G50 speakers and the MX-GT90 speakers connected. My mom hates this. She cant watch her soap operas if the TV is shaking!!!!!!!!

Summary: JVC MXG50 Tape Deak
Review: I am correcting a error in another review, the person said that you can only control the tape deck from the remote, you can control it from the base by pressing the 7, 27, and 24 numbered buttons which are in the owners manual.

The 3 things that would make this a 5 star item would be DVD playablty, CD Text, and DVD output.

Summary: Can you feel it?
Review: I got this for christmas. Setup was a breeze. The bass in the unit is awesome, but sometimes overpowering. The sound is crystal clear and the optical jack is useful for owners of a minidisc recorder or other such device. The AUX inputs are useful for game systems or DVD player. The speakers are a tad bit bulky, but expected. I enjoy this unit and would recommend it to any music lover.

Review: I love this stero!!! The sound is so full and rich, there is no crackling on these 240 watts and 2 subwoofers. I have never heard anything sound so awesome for what I paid for. It is definatley a good investment, you will get your money's worth.

Summary: Amazing sound for the price
Review: In the military exchange where I purchased this system, I asked the audio salesman which system he personally sounded the best. He pointed out this JVC model and an AIWA surround system that cost twice as much. Listening to both of them side-by-side left little doubt which was the better value.

Reaction of people that hear it for the first time in our home: dropped jaw.

Get this system. Easily the best dollar value out there.

Summary: Very Impressive!
Review: Just got my unit last Friday and have been very impressed. It is larger than I expected and has so many features. The CD carousel works well and gives many of the same features I have on my 5-disk Sony component. The CD plays both types of burned disks. The tape deck is great and one can dub from the CD or another tape with precision. The AM/FM allows for 30 preset FM and 15 AM channels. The subwoofer has a separate volume control from the main control for more accurate sound. There are sound modes that regulate bass, treble, and sound quality for Rock, Pop, and Classical music genres and also simulate the sound for dance hall, concert hall, and stadium sound. The remote is easy to use and very comprehensive. Keep batteries on hand because the tape deck cannot be run from anywhere but the remote. The appearance of the unit isn't the most attractive, but it isn't hideous, either. How the features will perform over the long haul remains to be seen. If any problems ensue, I'll post them here.

I am not the greatest audiophile. I'm not versed in all the terminology and skilled in all the features. Also, I don't have a precise ear for music/sound. What I do know is what works for me and what I like. This unit fits the bill. And speaking of bills, this is a great value. Even at [amt.], it is a buy.

Review: Somewhat bigger then I thought. I was expecting a "boom box" this is definitly not a boom box. Straight forward hookup with complete controls and the sound is terrific. Best [money] I have ever spent on Audio equipment. I highly recommend it for any room in your home although it does have a 'Space Age' appearance. I thought of the control deck of the Space Shuttle.

Summary: I'm the envy of my friends!
Review: The lights, the amazing sound, and the simplicity of the controls make this a fantastic stereo. My bedroom has turned into a dance club as the walls and windows shake with every beat. My mom looked and researched for months before buying the JVC MXG50 which was also rated a best buy in a popular Consumer magazine. I had a much more expensive stereo in my room until the cd player started to act up. No comparison to the JVC MXG50!
I just love it!
