Summary: not bad at all
Review: dont listen to the BS reviews who say this system has no bass , ive heard it and i can tell you it does .. it reaches down to 30hz and has 20cm subs which have plenty of thump. so anyone who can say it has no bass obviously hasnt heard it. the mids are clean and the highs are sharp without hiss. a decent system for anyone who cant afford the better models. i.e. HX-Z1 , HX-Z3 or MX-GT90.

Summary: not bad at all
Review: Dont listen to the people who complain that this system has no bass .. because unless you have 30,000 foot room in your house to fill with sound, this will give you all the bass you need. if heard this system befor, and while i dont find it to be as good as the hx-z1 (the stereo i decided to purchase) its still a decent system. clean mids, and clear sharp highs with minimal hiss. the 2 20cm 110 watt subs give plenty of bass reaching down to 30hz. a good system for those who canta fford the pricier models. i.e. Hx-z1 , Hx-z3, mx-gt80/90

Summary: Nothings Wrong With It
Review: I have a friend who bought this system, after hooking it up and chillin' for a bit he cranked the volume and bass, the walls shook, the floor, everything. Don,t be fooled by the other review, notice the first few words "In the store", it doesnt seem right to have a stereo blaring in the middle of a store and that ='s NO bass.

Summary: great 4 bass lovers
Review: i luved this sterio. it looks so cool and is very easy 2 use. it has 220 of its 330w going to the subwoofers and the giga tube is really cool. it shoots out air with the bass. the screen looks very cool in the dark. the sound doesnt even get destorted at its max power. it handles CDs, CD-Rs, and CD-RWs really well. i luv it. it is a great system! get it. it is also easy to set up. the FM radio sounds great.

Summary: This stereo is worthless
Review: I spent $... on this same stereo at a local [store]. I've had it four months and the speakers are blown. I'm NEVER home. I used it maybe 3X's a week. Never excessively loud. Since it's part of the Giga Tube series you cannot just replace them with regular speakers. What's even better is when JVC customer service won't return calls or email. If your looking for a ...paper weight, go for it.

Summary: FOLLOW-UP...
Review: I'm telling you guys for the last time, compared to the MX-GT80 and MX-GT90 of last year, this thing has NO BASS! You need to actually compare the systems before coming on here and BSing about the GT700. And it doesn't matter where you test them, in the store or at home, you will still be able to hear the difference! And just so you know, I used DJ Magic Mike and Techmaster P.E.B. to test these systems out! If you want to buy a brand new system, go for the HX-Z1 or HX-Z3, because they have a little more bass...

I'm terribly sorry if you bought the GT700 and are now 'stuck' with it! Shame Shame, everybody knows your name! :-(

Summary: Some people know nothing...
Review: Just before you people get paranoid and decide not to buy this stereo because of the review below that says this system has no bass, think again. The bass on this system is amazing. It'll blow you away. Just because this guy popped in his Dave Matthews cd into the system in the big store and claims there was no bass is bs. It is an excellent system with TONS of powerful bass. Buy it now.

Summary: ZERO BASS!
Review: Listening to this thing in the store was terribly disappointing, since it has practically no bass! Especially when compared to JVC's last 2 Giga-Tube models from last year, the GT80 and GT90! Don't let the Giga-Tube on this model fool you, it is just there for looks, because it doesn't seem to serve any purpose! It's just too bad that JVC had to mess with a good thing! Don't buy this model, but try to get your hands on a new or used GT80/GT90, which feature true band-pass boxes, and you will find the bass you are looking for!

Summary: Not a poor system but....
Review: My friend have bought this jvc system. The sound is average and the two 8 inch subwoofer really pump bass in a small room but in family room, the bass is ugly. 110 watts per channel for subwoofer. I don't believe it. My old scak29 of Panasonic with 70 watts per channel for subwoofer give a better bass.

This system has 330??? watts of power. The sound is good, not to bad. 3 cd and many option for choosing the sound quality. Bright display and the desing is ugly for more person and beautifull for another. You like it or you not like. Personally, i don't like it with the big button (fisher price desing). Why jvc has not keep the rolling pannel?

The speakers are big and the giga tube on the top reproducing a quiet bass for a small room.

Not to bad system, sound and built quality is average. For the same price and the better sound sc-ak44 of panasonic or mhc-gx40 of sony are better. 300 watts for ak-44 and 240 watts for gx-40(subwoofer include)
