JBL SoundGear 2020 Compact Stereo System

Summary: Very nice system but not that compact..
Review: As one would expect from JBL, this system produces very nice audio quality. The tuner, CD and cassette player all preform admirably. The controls, however, are not that intuitive, so expect to spend a little time to learn the control functions. The size of the system is quite big. It takes up a whole shelf of a standard steel shelving unit in my workshop. It is by no means "mini!"

Summary: I have finally found the perfect mini-system
Review: I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MANY DIFFERENT MINI-SYSTEMS I HAVE TRIED BUT MY SEARCH HAS ENDED. THIS SYSTEM IS THE BEST SOUNDING, AND HAS ALL THE FEATURES THAT I NEED. IT HAS EXTRA BASS,3 CD CHANGER, GREAT RADIO RECEPTION,AWESOME SOUND, AND NICE LOOOKING TOO! I USE IT IN MY KITCHEN AND IT PLAYS AND SOUNDS JUST LIKE A TRADITIONAL SYSTEM. MY CHILDREN HAD A JOKE GOING AS TO HOW MANY STEREOS I'VE TRIED BUT I HAVE FINALLY FOUND THE PERFECT ONE. THANK YOU JBL!!

Summary: Delivers very good sound
Review: I got this system for playing CD's in my workshop and it delivers exactly what I hoped it would. The SG3030 probably sounds even better with its 3-way speakers and greater power, but this system sounds very good (much nicer than other mini systems I've owned) and puts out more than enough volume. If I didn't also have a full-sized stereo, I might have gone with the SG3030. I agree that it - and from what I see in the pictures, also the SG3030 - loses one star for the illogical scattering of its controls across the front face, but that does not detract from its very good sound.

Review: I purchessed the JBL Sound Gear2020, and had found that I was really satisfied with this product. For the cost and and quality I found that is was worth the price. I was really suprised for the only review was kinda low as in prase. It wasn't too negative but wasn't very possitive either. For the low income indvidual like myself I found it to be quite addiquit to my need's. For those with a low amount to spend but want a little better than cheap, The JBL sound gear2020 is a good purches. I have been invovled with Stereo sales and home and auto sound systems for Five years. I think I know a little about quality, but you can see for yourself.

Summary: Not Up to Par
Review: I was disappointed in the general quality of this system.
The speakers are great, total JBL quality, but the interaction
of the unit, such as tape noise, cd spin noise, was not
acceptable on this price unit.
I am considering returning it.

Summary: no manual equalization
Review: Sound is nice. Controls are relatively easy to figure out. The only shortcoming I've found so far is that you can't adjust the treble/bass yourself - you have to depend on the preset equalization settings for jazz, classical, pop. I'm not crazy about the pounding/vibrating bass.

Review: You can find in this mini-system all you need. Its VMAx feature for virtual surround is UNBELIEVABLE, especially if you connect your DVD player to it.
