The sound quality is pretty good at low to medium volumes. This is not a system for someone wanting big volume. But with surround sound (which works) and X-Bass, it is more than adequate for small houses/apartments. The 2x recording is obviously one of the strongest features of this system. Probably the only features lacking are jog-dial titling and some of the connections which audiophiles would appreciate (which I am not). Bottom line = If you are an above average music freak who wants a good basic system, this will suffice.
