Summary: FROM THE AUTHOR
Review: 1990 brought the emergence of the new stars from Africa as Cameroon reached the quarter-finals. Brazil returned to former glories in a spectacular 1994 tournament full of close and competitive matches. And 1998 brought one of the best and most tightly contested tournaments culminating in a sensational Final.

Review: im a huge soccer fan and i grew up during these world cups, but i cannot recommend this dvd...the picture quality is passable but the scores dont update themselves, which means you are watching one match and seeing the score for another, which is very annoying...it looks like a 5 year old edited this, is this the best you can do guys>? also baggio's wondergoal during italia '90 is missing, i was very disappointed, as this is one of the great world cup highlights. All this is crowned off by poor narration...and no build up to goals and other noteworthy incidents...honestly id return this if i could.

Summary: Great highlights DVD
Review: This DVD is a great highlights package of the 1990, 1994 and 1998 World Cups. The photography and footage are FAR better than the ones presented for earlier tournaments so you'll get your money's worth with this disc.

Summary: Good Footage, Average Commentary, Poor Mechanics
Review: Version IV:1)The picture clarity is good, however I would like to see a bit more on the goal development (ie more passes that lead up to the goals). 2)The narration is average; I own the History of the World Cup VHS (up through 1990)and while the picture quality is poor, the narration is better than on this production. 3)The DVD Mechanics are terrible. For each of the tournaments 1990, 1994, and 1998, scores have been added but do not match the flow of the DVD (the scores will update well in advance of the goals or even games actually occurring). Also, the transitions between chapters is terrible.
