Description:

Take a leap into big-time entertainment with JVC's surprisingly compact DS-TP6000 home theater. The system includes a DVD player/hi-fi VCR combo unit, a 100-watts x 5 audio/video receiver with built-in FM/AM tuner and Dolby Digital/DTS surround decoding, as well as 5 matching satellite speakers and a 100-watt subwoofer. Dolby Pro Logic II processing generates full 5.1-channel surround from any stereo source (even your MP3-CD files).

With the HR-XVC26U combination DVD player and VCR, you can enjoy cutting-edge DVDs alongside your existing library of videocassettes--and you won't have to continually switch inputs on your TV whenever you switch viewing formats from the combo unit. The HR-XVC26U provides a DVD and a VHS signal through both the composite-video and progressive-scan component-video outputs. You'll also enjoy MP3 music, JPEG image CD, and video-mode DVD-RW and DVD-R media playback, as well as hi-fi VHS performance. And, you can be taping something while you're watching a DVD. Listen to your favorite music for hours on end or set up a custom slideshow of your family's digital photos for viewing on your living-room TV.

Whether your living room is currently home to an HDTV or you're merely thinking of "someday," the Digital Direct Progressive Scan HR-XVC26U stands ready to deliver the full potential of your DVDs. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. Composite-video and DVD-only S-video outputs accommodate most standard (non-HD) TVs.

Exclusive VCR features include 1-month, 8-event programming, index search, auto clock setting, and auto tracking. The unit offers an RF input for cable-box signals and an RF output for use with older TVs that lack composite-video inputs. S-VHS quasi playback lets you watch, in regular VHS resolution, tapes recorded in Super-VHS, normally only compatible with more expensive S-VHS machines. A set of front-panel audio/video inputs accommodates a camcorder or gaming console.

The speaker system consists of 5 mini-cube satellite speakers (front left/right, center, and left/right surround) with a slot-loaded powered subwoofer using a 6.5-inch long-throw driver and a 100-watt amplifier. All speakers are magnetically shielded to prevent image distortion when placed close to a television or computer monitor. Integrated mounting hooks on the satellites make it easy to position them on walls to conserve shelf space. You can also mount the satellites on stands, however, while the center speaker is best positioned atop your television or--with a flat-panel TV--on the wall or a shelf just above or below the TV.

JVC's AV Compu Link simplifies operation when the components are connected to each other or to additional JVC equipment.
