Rating: Summary: I gave it 5 stars, and that's saying a hell of alot Review: Out of a 500 DVD collection, I track them all in a database and rate them. I have under 20 I rated with 5 stars. 5 stars to me doesn't come easy. I gave this 5 stars. I even have the DVD at my computer right now (I work at home) and I'm playing that final scene over and over and I get chills every time. This is life, the good the bad and the ugly of it. This is what it takes, also, to be a daytrader. You have to have skill, you must be fearless, and you must be smart, the 3 attributes that "the good" had in this movie. If you have this, you can gun down stocks all day long with eyes of cold confident steel, put your gun away, and walk away. I love this movie.
Rating: Summary: The best final scene ever made! Review: This film is essential for those who conceive cinema as a visual art. Sergio Leone produced on of the best final scene ever made in cinema history. Buy it forever!
Rating: Summary: A must see for all, A genuine classic Review: If there is one movie you must own, this is it! This is Clint Eastwood at its best. I do not usually like Westerns, but this is not about Western, it is about a genuine fantasy that takes you away from all your real world problems! If you are depressed over your stock losses, or having marriage and/or work, etc., problems, watching this movie will relax you and takes you away from it all. A truly enjoyable movie experience. What Bethoven's Fur Elise is to the music world, the Good, the Bad and the Ugly is to the movie world.
Rating: Summary: I don't usually like Westerns..... Review: ...but this movie is the exception! No character is really "good". They're all a bunch of scumbags willing to cut anyone's throat to get that hidden confederate money. The trailer is particularly interesting. It shows Eli Wallach with the word "bad" under his picture, and Van Cleef listed as "ugly". I guess the director was smart enough to realise Angel Eyes isn't the ugliest (he's the "baddest", ha, ha) and switch it around before the release?!
Rating: Summary: A masterpiece Review: To me,this is the best western ever made. Clint Eastwood,Lee Van Cleef and, espesially,Ely Wallach made this movie a must-see. Great score by Ennio Morricone ,and,of course,Sergio Leone deserves the highest praise for directing. A true classic!
Rating: Summary: Being Direct And Original Review: In some part towards the end of this film a cowboy with a single arm catches Tuco to retaliate, but instead of instantly shooting at Tuco he starts to speak, and because he has started to do so, Tuco finds an opportunity to draw his gun before he fires first and shoots at his rival. Then he says "If you'll shoot, shoot; don't talk!" which is the most appropriate sentence for that case, and so is the every other part of the film all well thought and all with a sense. Everything from the scenario to the selection of the artists... It's not a coincidence that it became so successful. And it's one of the most immitated movies I've seen, too, but I think that helps to shows its difference from the ordinary films. That's why I bought it and it is one of the just five VHS's I've bought so far.
Rating: Summary: You should watch the Italian version... Review: I give this one three stars... basically I agree with the "one star" guys. The story is kind of a mess. I remember watching the Italian version five years ago or something and there the story made definitely sense. In the DVD you'll find those "lost" parts but... it is not like what I consider the original.
Rating: Summary: A Excellent Viewing Experience Review: This film is on par with For A Few Dollars more, This is not suprising as irt features the actors who starred in it. This film also has dramatic scenes and sequences, such as the rope being shot when Eli Wallach's character is about to be hanged. A excellent western film.
Rating: Summary: My all time favorite Review: my favorite movie ever, bar none. As a kid I went and saw it in the theatre 5 days in a row. i watched it every time it was on T.V., and bought it when VCR's came on the scene. Thank the heavens for DVD, now I can see the original scope of the film again. I have seen this movie over 100 times and have been reciting lines from it for almost 25 years. A wonderful movie, vastly entertaining. A total classic!!
Rating: Summary: A Little Aimless Review: Seemed like, some blood, gunfire, starvation, and a bag of gold were crammed into the blender and out came this movie. No plot, a pathetic hero, about a hundred fifty lucky and irrational escapes. A little fun, but mostly just aimless until the predictable ending.
