Summary: End of an Era
Review: The outstanding outdoor scenery of this somewhat ordinary Western makes it noteworthy. Besides the scenery there is also a very good cast headed by Clint Eastwood that includes Robert Duvall, John Saxon, Don Stroud, and James Wainwright. This was director John Sturges' second to last Western. This was also one of the last Westerns that looked like those classic Technicolor and widescreen Westerns to come out of the 1950's. It's filled with panoramic landscapes of wide-open plains, billowing skies and majestic mountains. Lalo Schifrin's score more befitting of the 70's seemed to lethargically bring that era of filmmaking to an end with this film.

Summary: Not Eastwood's best, but not bad
Review: This film seems to catch alot of flack, but is really not all that bad. While admittedly somewhat slow moving, it nonetheless has some good action, some interesting characters, good location filming, and a fairly interesting storyline. I have seen it many times, and while it is not the greatest western around, it is worth watching.

Summary: Wonderful Movie
Review: This is Clint Eastwood's one of the best Western's. Even though it may not be as good as 'Outlaw Josey Wales', it is still pretty awesome.

Clint Eastwood is Joe Kidd in the movie. A gunslinger in one of the towns who has been locked up. Joe Kidd is a man who does what he wants to do and sometimes gets in trouble with the Law. A Land Tycoon pays off his fine because Joe Kidd is the best gunslinger out there.

Land Tycoon and his minions are trying to run out some poor mexicans from their rightful land. Joe Kidd first supports the Tycoon but when he realizes the situation, he decides to help out rebel mexicans to save their land.

This has many good shooting scenes. Even though the story wasn't great, the shooting scenes make up for it. You will especially love the last part where Eastwood rams into his enemy gunslingers' building with a locomative and starts shooting!

Anyhow, many claim that it is just an ordinary movie. Ignore them and buy the movie.

Summary: Great
Review: This is one of Eastwood's best movies, and one of the best westerns I've ever seen. It's a straight adventure piece, and a great one. It's one that, when it comes on TV, I sit down to watch five minutes of it, and end up watching the whole thing.
