Summary: They Make It Look So D**n Easy!
Review: This has got to be the best season of my favorite show on television now. It totally sucks that this show is over. The writers do a marvelous job weaving magic into the lives of these tremendous characters. The archs of each of the women believeably and comically make this show something so special. I am a New Yorker, and nothing looks as good in real life as it does on the show, and yet it feels so real. I just gotta get every season, (although I agree that the corporate jerks are totally manipulating fans by breaking the season into two over-priced segments. The extra dough probably won't make it to S.J. Parker, Kim Catrall or any of the other actresses, or even the crew that "make" the show. If you've seen the HBO building, you gotta wonder about the overhead. I'm thinking Sex and Sopranos pay for many a paycheck.) Anyway, I laughed my butt off during this season! I've always enjoyed the previous seasons and I watch them to lift my spirits from time to time. But, this season was the best so far! The supporting cast kicked major booty too! I'm totally against giving away details for the few of you out there who "don't watch television", like me. Suffice it to say, this show keeps getting better. I'm thrilled to own each season released thus far. I got into Sex through word of mouth and I am just doing my small part to pass on the word. It's a smart, witty, and funny alternative to most of the schlock on the boobtube these days. Btw, if you are interested in editing, directing or screenwriting, the commentary is a welcome extra.

Summary: The Best Season of a Classic Show
Review: I think everyone is aware that Sex and the City was a wonderful show. Most people are also aware that the sixth and final season was easily the best, blending near-slapstick humor with poignancy rarely seen an anything with the word "sex" in the title.
There has been much griping about HBO's decision to split the season up into two DVD sets(...). But to complain about the price is unnecessary. Not only was the season split in half by several months - essentially having a 12 episode 6th season and an 8-episode 7th season, but many full-season DVD sets of popular television shows - such as Showtime's Queer as Folk or Xena - are priced at upwards of $100 per season. And it's safe to say that, while QAF and Xena are fun shows, SATC is far superior, and worth the fifty bucks. Stop whining - if you're a fan of the show and want to cherish it for years, take the $50 out of your paycheck and buy the DVDs! You are getting 6 hours of Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha, each at their best. It's a wonderful season and worth every penny.

Summary: The end of a Sexual Era
Review: The end is near with the release of Season Six of SEX IN THE CITY. And this collection of the first half of the final 36 episode season sets up the ending of a great series.

This season begins with Carrie's budding romnace with Berger (Ron Livington of "Office Space") and not everything is as good as Carrie wish it to be. Sex is bad, Berger's reaction to the ex is bad, but Carrie couldn't want Berger more than ever.

The rest of the girls are also maturing in their relationships as Sam struggles being someone's girl friend the ultra hot (to whom I am not sure) Smith Jerrod, Miranda with Blair Underwood and then,,, She wises up and wins back Steve. Plus a well written and not overly sappy or whiney baby-less marraige of Charlotte and Harry.

This season bring back Sex's best new character Anthony for Charlotte to fag hag with, and of course the charming Magda who is determined to butt in where she doesn't belong.

HBO angered many by not releaseing the entire season, but this is better than waiting 2 years or until Christmas for this DVD. We got, we need to love and watch it.

Summary: My GF's favorite show
Review: Let me get this out of the way first. I don't really enjoy the show, BUT my Girlfriend loves it. She swears by it and has ever since college when she had cable and would watch it with her friends. It's been this long standing thing that we do where I buy her the seasons (since she does not have HBO) once they come out on DVD and then she and her friends have a marathon and watch a season straight through in a weekend.

This (season 6) supposedly was the best season ever and shows a level of maturation in the characters that I have always felt they were lacking... but I guess that was the point up until now. Anyway, from what I understand, if you are a fan of the series you will not do wrong to pick up season 6 as it's the best (and sadly last) year for the show. For me, well it's always been a great feeling to get the seasons for her and know that I am getting her something that she greatly enjoys, so for that (providing an excellent show that she really loves) I give the series 5 stars.

Now... on to the bad part. I was happily buying her seasons 1-4 and everything was great. Then season 5 came out and HBO decided to cut that season short (only 8 episodes) but STILL charge full price for the season. The MSRP for season 5 is $49.99 and that means that you are paying (at MSRP) ~$6.25 per half hour episode. Well I gritted my teeth and muttered some curses at HBO for their greed but wrote the whole thing off due to circumstances beyond their control. I mean, Mrs. Jessica Parker was pregnant (from my understanding) so they stopped filming because her character was not.

So now Season 6 has come out on DVD... well actually it hasn't. Only PART of season 6 has actually made it to DVD, the other half (well 2/5) of the season is waiting in the wings as a yet to be released DVD collection. HBO has decided to split the season and charge (at least for the first part) full price for the first "half" of the season. My guess is they will do the same for the second half, so that means season 6 (when all is said and done) will come out to be around ~$100 for 20 episodes (I believe season 6 had 20 episodes, right?) where as 1-4 gave you 12 (for season 1) to 18 episodes and the MSRP was $39.99. I understand inflation, but come on. That's a 150% cost increase (~$40 to ~$100)! That's just bending the fans of the show over the barrell! I guess HBO decided to milk what they could out of the series since this was the last season.

Will I get this for my Girlfriend? I sure will, you can't put a price on love and happiness. Would I suggest you get this season if you are a fan of the show? I definately will. Do I think HBO stinks for their greed? Heck yeah!

Summary: Excellent!!!
Review: I finished the whole DVD in one night. It is just so good. So many good events happened. I think Charolette and Harry are just so sweet and they make a perfect couple. I am so happy that they get married. My favorite part is where Big finally "opened his heart", even though it only last for one night. It delivers the message that you can see who really cares about you when one is sick. Carried stepped out of the plate and took care of Big. Too bad that Big decided to close his heart againt he next morning. Of course I love it toward the end that Miranda and Steve got back together. It was very touching. I like season six part I a lot better than season five.

Summary: Alright y'all listen up.....
Review: I hate to be mean or rude but, has everyone gone insane or are there really this many cheap, bitter and nasty buyers out there. First of all the name of this product is season six part ONE, so the people complaining they were not told the season was split need to get back on the short bus and relax. Secondly, people really need to stop with the whole "this is too expensive" and "HBO is ripping us off!" Get over it, this show is fab and if you can't see that, go away and stop scaring off the other fabulous people who would enjoy this show!

Summary: I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!! And this DVD set was great!
Review: If you love these ladies and their crazy relationships...you will just have to add this to your collection. I laughed, I cried...and can't wait for the last set Part 2.

Summary: An Obvious Plot to Squeeze the Money Fruit
Review: This is just hilarious. First they release that overpriced DVD which they attempt to call Season 5 (so not worth it). Then they split season 6 into 2 sets! This is just pure greed. Although I am a huge fan and bought the first 5 seasons in ORIGINAL, I am disgusted at this move and refuse to buy season 6 until the producers realize their greed has backlashed (i.e., via terrible sales figures, coupled with soaring distribution levels of bootlegged copies).

I say as a consumer, boycott this one until they give in and release a single DVD set for SATC 6. If they still refuse, well...you have options.

Summary: Typical greed. Shameful.
Review: So, this is what loyalty gets? Well then you can keep it, and i am SO looking forward to selling my 1st 5 box sets back - i'm a complete-ist - but after the decable of 5, i can't even THINK of going after season 6 in this mish-mashed, messed up form. What a shame, really. Would have been a nice thing to have this show in it's entirety in the house... but NEVER like this.
Greatly looking forward to the consolidated anthology, reduced-price re-package entitled "Collector's Edition" though in the future.

Summary: I LOVE IT BUT..........
Review: I loved the 6th season of Sex and the City and all the season before. I am proud owner of all the seasons and watch them all the time to see how the characters matured. I do agree with alot of the other reviewers that it is not right that HBO released season 6 in two parts. I am disappointed that they did that to the viewers who love the show so much to buy it.
