Summary: Good, just good!
Review: The plot is a little sketchy, but those who give this movie a bad name because of it are just nuts.
The movie is pretty good! Really good action scenes & good historical accuracy. It aint perfect like "Saving Private Ryan", but it's still something worth buying.
Check it out & also check out "The Lost Battalion"!

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Terrible Film!
Review: A movie about the battle of Hurtigen Forrest in the closing year of WWII. A battle left in obscurity because it represented America's highest casualties in any battle during WWII and clearly the poorest leadership. A lofty subject whose execution was mutilated by a pathetic script, substandard directing, and mediocre acting.

In addition to the mediocre script, the acting and directing is abysmal. The characters sound more like they were drafted in the Vietnam War than as WWII G.I.s. The idioms, mannerisms, and expressions are so far from reflecting the values of the 1930s/1940s that it's laughable. The costumes and stage are equally poor. The soldiers walk and stand around without care right on the front lines in the heat of batlle; flame throwers are composed of fire hoses; Germans leave their heavy artillery in front of the infantry; and the list goes on. It's immediately evident to a viewer of average education that no one on this film knew anything about WWII other than the fact that this battle occurred, the year when it took place, and what nationality the participants were.

I originally received this movie as a promotional item; I watched it once and gave it away in disgust. One star is too kind a rating for such a pitiful film. Shun this film like the plague!
