Summary: Don't buy it for DVD backup/copy
Review: I am really dissapointed with this.
This unit doesn't work with dvd recorders just with dvd to vhs recordings.
It creates an electronic protection even when the original doesn't have it.
Just lets you copy dvd to vhs, don't expect any more.

Summary: Makes DVDs/Videos watchable on old equipment.
Review: I found out about this device in Sound&Vision from a reader that was experiencing the same problem that I had;namely, that macrovision encoded movies screw up the brightness on some TVs even with direct connections. I worked with the Macrovision people for a month to straighten out the problem but didn't get anywhere. I didn't want to ditch my 31" monitor that I bought in 87 so I got the Sima. Works great and doesn't create any noise that's apparent. Can also adjust the picture without screwing up my TV settings for videos with color problems.

Summary: SCC2 Sima's new version works DVD to DVD
Review: I have the original which is great for cleaning up VHS tapes....the new one can also back up DVDs, so I put away the original for safe keeping and let my kids watch the back-up.

Summary: Great for Backing up DVDs to Tape!
Review: I purchased The Sima SCC Video Color Corrector by Sima about 2 years ago and it still works great in backing up your DVD titles to VHS tapes and allowing you to fine tune the colors.

Summary: Sima Scc Great product.
Review: I read some of the reviews that were not great and don't see it. I hooked mine up and all I have done is transfer vhs to dvd infact thats what I bought it for. Not only does it clean up the picture from cruddy VHS tapes but I have the Cable running through it as well and does a great job with that too. All I can say is that maybe you guys hooked it up wrong. I have transfered about at this point 50 vhs tapes and all look much better than the originals, this unit is a must have in my opinion.

Summary: This Item is a great "Copyguard" remover & Color Adjuster!
Review: This Sima SCC works great. Can sharpen a DVD picture to make it look better than the original! I've seen were some people stated that it will only work from DVD to VCR....but that's not true. You have to "trick" your DVD Recorder by going through a S-VHS VCR inputs (S-jacks)then outputs to your DVD Recorder. Connect the Sima SCC Video Color Corrector to the DVD player BEFORE going through a S-VHS VCR input S-Jacks & then the output S-jacks to the DVD Recorder, then it works GREAT!! Will make a better picture than the original. You just got to know what your doing! Better than the new Sima products if you use it correctly.

Summary: Doesn't work...
Review: With DVD recorders! That would have been a nice little piece of info to include in the description, eh?

I found out the hard way, after buying the thing. Now I have to go through the trouble of returning it.
