Description:

Hitachi's UltraBlack dark tinted picture tube provides superior contrast, sharpness, and color purity. Unlike some manufacturers that spray black dye onto the picture tube, Hitachi injects the dye into the molten glass before the tube is formed, for an even tint that cannot be rubbed off. With phosphor dots that provide stable phosphor color and high screen brightness, this combination creates remarkable depth and realism.

This TV features channel ID/video ID, which allows you to add onscreen identification labels for each station. As you tune in to a particular station, this feature displays the station number and its call letters. Video ID allows you to label the video inputs--so the onscreen display will show the specific name of your input device (e.g. DVD, VCR, etc.) instead of the generic video 1 or video 2 display.

The child lock with channel lock feature lets you block out an unlimited number of channels that may be inappropriate for your children. You can reinstate them with a secret code. Video lock allows you to block all video inputs, while quick lock allows you to instantly lock out channels 3 and 4, or all the video inputs at one time. Once this feature is activated, your children will not be able to use the VCR, video games, or any other devices connected to the TV. TV time out enables you to lock out viewing access to the entire TV for a preferred time period. You can reinstate the picture and sound with your secret code. Just press the Help button on your UltraVision remote control, and a context-sensitive onscreen system will provide explanations and/or directions for whatever function your cursor is on.
