Summary: Quality Slipping?
Review: I've had this television for a couple months now. The picture is great, the remote is easy to use, and I've had no problems with this t.v. now, and don't expect to for years to come. Quite honestly however, you can get a similar television with the same quality picture made by other brands for much less money. The real gamble is really a long term one-are you sure your product will last? With this Sony television, I feel comfortable knowing that it should last a while. You're essentially paying extra for the name and reputation. Now here's why I might NOT recomend this t.v. and it's pretty important. For those of you who have multiple auxilary systems (receiver, PS2, DVD player, etc.), I wouldn't recomend this t.v. becuase it only has one S-video input, and one coax input and that's it. No second S-video input and no component input. You'll need to pay extra for an adapter that switches between inputs if you want to utilize all of your home entertainment toys. Other than that, this t.v. is great.

Summary: Performs Exactly as Expected, but for a little more $$

Summary: Great TV!
Review: I've had this TV for about 3 months now and it's great. A sharp image and nearly flat tube make this TV a joy to watch. I compared this set with the 27" WEGA side by side in a store and frankly I didn't see enough of a difference to warrant spending the extra money for the WEGA. I'll save that money for a good DVD player!

Drawbacks: Only one S-video input, no component inputs and for the first week or so the red colors were too saturated compared to the blue and green. I guess it just needed time to "burn in" because the colors are perfect now.

Summary: nice picture , poor interfaces
Review: It's a nice TV , enough for daily use .
but only one RF-in and one Video-audio(L&R) in , that is too cheap . Everybody got a VCR , DVD , XBOX , Digital-TV , etc , ( not everybody ) , how to connect all the toys to this TV ?

Summary: Great Value
Review: The flat screen truly distinguishes Sony televisions from therest. You also get front and rear Audio/Vido inputs, and incrediblesound. This television is ideal for anyone who is looking to get a 27" TV, but doesn't want spent an exhorbitant amount to get the top of the line Wega.

Summary: crooked screen
Review: The picture slants down from the left to right side of the screen over an inch. This is very annoying especially when watching a letterbox DVD movie. Obviously I exchanged the TV for a new one, and the new one had the same problem. I am going to exchange for a different model now. In general I have always liked Sony TV's, They are the best. But not sure why they decided to make this model so poor.

Summary: Good Sony 27 inch Stereo Color TV
Review: This is a good set from SONY. It has a Digital comb filter that increases picture resolution and reduces noticeable dot-crawl, which is visible on less expensive 27inch brands. It has Rear audio and composite video inputs as well as an S-video input for DVD, Laser Disc players and Super-VHS recorders for higher picture resolution. It also has XDS, which has become a standard feature of late on better TVs. XDS receives information that some broadcasters are sending with their signals. It also comes standard with Clock, Sleep Timer, Channel Jump and V-chip. It comes with Remote SONY RM-Y165. I just saw this set this weekend with a satellite signal and DVD demo. It looked very good.

Summary: Sony TV Awsome
Review: This Tv is very nice in the back it has 2 sets of Video imputs and one of them has S-Video. Also i haven't noticed any baqd things about this tv except it was a little hard to set up the pip because the tv doesn't have 2 tuners, so you have to use the vcr as a second tuner.

Summary: Quality Slipping?
Review: We recently purchased this tv, returned and exchanged it for another, and had to return the second set. There were two reasons for this. When started cold, both Sony's made a nasty groaning sound that literally could be heard across the house. According to the sales staff at the store, this is normal for Trinitrons. I have also seen this complaint on usenet boards.

The second tv was shipped with a piece of plastic lodged between the screen and the cabinet frame, causing the plastic frame to bend outwards. I managed to shove the piece out of the way and it fell somewhere into the chasis.

The tv does deliver a very good picture and sound. But, unless you are willing to live with a set that sounds like its going to blow up, I'd consider something else.

Summary: LOOKED FOR A SONY
Review: We researched and bought a Sony DVD and despite the saleperson telling us it wouldn't work with an old tv, we tried it anyway. It didn't. So we decided to get a new TV. I have always liked Sony and own several of their other products (stereo, playstation) so it was a natural choice to go with a Sony TV. It wouldn't have taken much to convince me even if I wasn't looking for a Sony. This TV really stood out among the others in our price range. It had all the features we wanted and needed, a great picture, and a quality name. We are certainly happy with our choice, especially since we were able to sit down and watch a movie 10 mins. after taking it out of the box. I didn't give it 5 stars because we did notice the slight tilt but it was not enough to bother us.
