Summary: Great for the price.
Review: Our old TV broke a while back, and we needed one to replace it for the living room.

We started to look at the SONY trinitron TV's because most people said they had some of the best picture quality for the price.

But when I saw this TV displaying in HD, the diffrence between this and the sony was night and day. This was so much clearer.

We have owned this now for about 3 months, and its an ok TV. great color reproduction, and surprising sound comming from such small speakers (much better then i would have expected).

It also has lots of menu options and quite a few input jacks including a hidden front RCA / S-video jacks, which come in handy for me. Sadly though, this TV can only display 1080p from a computer output, which is relatively small for a 27" tv.

It also has PIP (picture in picture) mode, which is a nice feature i have never had before and works good.

As for the style of the TV, i really like it. it does'nt look "cheap" or ugly to me. The TV is also very quiet, hardly any hum from the speakers when muted.

A few things i do not like about this TV is that it takes forever to change the channel, whereas my old TV would change very quickly. It has an extreamly slow refresh rate, which is noticible (comparable to a 70hz Computer moniter). This also degrades pure white text by giving it a unfinished quality (some of the white will not show up all the time).

Set-up was easy enough for me, but the instruction manual was just "ok".

Basically, if your on a tight budget but still want a HDTV, i recommend this for about 650$US. One of the best deals around. Given the choice between a 32" trinitron and this, i would pick the Zenith 27".

Oh, and even if you don't have digital cable, the picture will still look MUCH better then a non-HDTV. This is very noticible with small text, such as a stock ticker on the bottom of a financial show. This TV produces text very clearly!

~Hope this helps
