Description:
Sony's Studio Monitor series headphones incorporate a state-of-the-art engineering design to produce excellent sound quality and wearing comfort. These headphones accommodate the discriminating needs of high-end consumer or professional applications. The "Circum-Aural" earcup design is formed in the natural shape of the human ear, and positions the driver unit at a correct distance from the ear canal, forming a sealed resonance chamber over the earlobe itself. This reduces pressure on the ear for a more comfortable fit, especially during extended listening sessions. An "Aura-Nomic" design 50-millimeter driver unit is positioned within the earcup at an angle that directly corresponds to the angle of the opening of the ear canal, for the most natural listening experience possible. The Neodymium magnet is small, yet five times more powerful than a ferrite magnet of comparable size. This provides a better headphone without increasing the overall size and weight of the driver unit. The stronger the magnet used to provide the return energy of the voice coil and diaphragm, the more accurate the driver unit will be in reproducing the entire sound spectrum.
