Summary: Outstanding Portable
Review: This portable has excellent picture quality and very good reception. The LCD screen makes it much more compact than other 5" color TV's. I carry mine in an old Zip drive tote bag - including all its accessaries. The low power consumption of the LCD is also why it uses smaller batteries (8 AA's) than other TV's. It's still small & light even with the battery pack attatched, and cheaper to operate on batteries, too. It will also run on AC or a car's 12v lighter. You can connect an external antenna or a cable box, or A/V cables to use it as a monitor. This is the best 5" color TV I've used, and I've had several. In my opinion, picture tube based 5" color TV's just became obsolete.
Although this TV doesn't have a cable ready tuner, I've never seen a 5" TV that does.

Summary: Not Worth It!
Review: This TV has exceptionally poor color. There are not any adjustment knobs to increase color and correct tint. All you can adjust is brightness.

The color is washed out looking and flesh tones look yellowish to green.

Although this TV has a jazzy style and comes with electric and car adapters, the quality of the picture simply isn't acceptable.

Summary: Tiny Telly
Review: We have had this Action TV for about 2 months and it works great. Prior to this we were using a 15 year-old b&w Sony Watchman for our walkabout TV watching. Reception on that set was usually pretty poor, even when it was new. It did, however, have an AM/FM tuner which the Action TV does not.
On this set, our local NBC affiliate station does not come in as good as the others, but reception for the rest of them ranges from good to excellent. Reception quality also depends on where you are in the house, so moving it around usually helps. The sound quality is fair, but this is a very small TV you really can't expect it to have much better. Color is saturated (deep bright colors) and there is a brightness control to modulate that somewhat.
We usually have this set in the kitchen, plugged in to a wall receptacle with the supplied power converter. We also keep batteries in it so that we can take it outside or wherever there's no plug handy.
Overall, we are very happy with this little set and it's quirky design (looks like something from the Jetsons). Some of the complaints about this set in the previous reviews are about features that it doesn't have. This is a very affordable tiny TV that would quickly end up not being affordable if those features were included.

Summary: Very disappointed
Review: With all the great reviews for this product, I have to wonder if the manufacturer has a quality assurance problem. My unit has very poor reception and I live in an urban area, and the color could be better. Also, I got less than an hour on batteries. It appears people either get a unit that works great or works like a piece of junk. Well, I have another older portable TV and it gets great reception so I know its not signal strength. This product works so poorly, that essentially I will have to shelve it and spend money on a different product.
